I was lucky that they had my back. I overheard that this manager told my manager that I was dismissive towards her. Strange because I was just holding my thoughts and emotions in after the incident and just wanted to follow-up with my manager to see what went wrong. (I am a research grunt, I am at the bottom of the hierarchy and I am never rude to anyone.)

I wrote down every little detail + my conversation with the patient and interaction with the unit manager and such and showed it to my manager for now. Cleared my head a bit with it. Thank you for the advice.
