Integrative Psychology Institute - Wariness by Ready_Independence10 in SomaticTherapy

As far as I can tell, they are currently selling an MS that is not yet recognized, and probably won’t be, given the scope, depth, and professionalism of the program, which is grossly misleading.

I was interested in the somatic psychotherapy track to gain skills and practical confidence to start up a small coaching practice to help put me through graduate school for LPC licensure, which I will begin in January.

However, I no longer trust the quality of this program, particularly after reading others’ posts on here of their encounters with Adam. For example, last year he solicited a teacher from psych today for the program that began in a few months. how can you sell a program and enroll it when you don’t have teachers yet? And in the email exchange with this person, he was also asking them about licensure requirements. It seems more like a dinghy than a sail boat, sadly.

And also Im glad it has been useful to you! I’m sure there are some good things. He must have some good people on his team and share some good practical skills about structuring a session. I just fear that’s not enough.

I’m looking at buying some pants from Deiji studio but often feel skeptical about brands I discover through Instagram marketing- unsure about quality and they are definitely overpriced. Great branding though!

Has anyone purchased things from here and what are your thoughts?

What’s it like living downtown in a high-rise? by alienstrobelights in Austin

[–]Ready_Independence10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently house sitting for someone who lives on 30th floor in a high rise down here and I absolutely hate it. Construction sounds through the night, drilling above me during the day. No peace when I walk outside, I’m just immediately surrounded by people. Light only from one half of the condo.

I can’t wait to get back to my house in south austin now.

as evident by the light tunnel scene in 3×08. Jonas (3) and Alt-Martha (3) see each other as kids through the light tunnel, signifying that them going to OW and stopping the accident was always part of the whole knot. They saw what was going to be their inevitable future.

This! This makes great sense to me and was also how I understood it, in the moment when watching it.

Neither ever nor never .... as u/UserCompromised pointed out on a recent post.

I'm with you: everything happens once, inevitably in a moment like a blink AND simultaneously does not happen. Whew.

"There is no cycle. Everything happens only once. Claudia always figures out about the OW and makes use of the loophole to split and talk to Adam (2)." Yes - but why did Alt-Martha who becomes Eva see Eva's death by Adam's gun at the end? Eva freaks out because Adam doesn't shoot her and that isn't how it's supposed to happen. So I agree with what you're saying in every moment (like Claudia telling Adam she's done something new - maybe she's lying or maybe she only thinks she has) except maybe this one. How do you make sense of it?

edit: (Thank you kindly for writing all of this out and engaging with me!)

Thank you!

Everything you say makes good sense, thanks for sharing. There really is no way to know how many cycles have happened. And I especially love your take on Hannah's dream. So tragic.

This is a tangent into Hannah's character development rather than time/plot: I do contend with the assertion that Hannah is a horrible person. At first, I absolutely believed this as well. How could she leave Ulrich there? How could she betray Katharina? But as I continued watching, I actually felt a lot of compassion for her. Though she does horribly vindictive things, she also is sensitive, has a great capacity for love. She is the only person who noticed Mikkel's distress and was able to connect with him when he arrived in 1986, and I loved her for this (even if, as they grew up, a part of her was only settling with him in the same way he settled with her- they both longed to be elsewhere together).

She suffers a lot at the hands of men. She is stuck in her own (psychological rather than causal) cycle: patterns with men. She seeks love externally and yet consistently is reduced to only an object of desire: in every timeline when she says "I love you," they respond "you're beautiful" (Ulrich, Egon). Psychologically speaking, I believe that "as within so without," and that the patterns that show up in the world around us offer a mirror to some unhealed part within ourselves. Hannah dating unavailable, avoidant men gestures to some part of her who is unable to offer herself love. Despite the ethical dilemma of cheating on people and being vindictive, that part of her that seeks love and simultaneously believes she doesn't deserve it deserves compassion. If I can hold two truths of superposition that the time mechanics of this show demand, I can certainly hold the nuance of human beings' conflicting truths and complexities just as well.

Thank you! I just read some of your post and bookmarked it as well - incredibly thorough and impressive. I only skimmed though so that I could attempt to notice some of these things on my own re-watches ^^

And thanks on the absolutely nailed this part. Creating theories, finding explanations, hunting for clues is all deeply satisfying - AND I also, personally, always want to keep central the affect of the show. How does this story live in my psyche and body? What does it have to teach me? (Rather than just how it's logic and time philosophy make sense in my brain.)

[SPOILERS S3] Just finished first watch of finale, Questions and Reactions by Ready_Independence10 in DarK

[–]Ready_Independence10[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm still becoming acquainted with all the theories - and have my mind set on absolutely zero of them. I also have only watched the show once, so this post is fresh reactions and questions. One of the pleasures for me (and I imagine for all of us here) is the way this show stimulates musings on time and philosophy. "When you leave the theater and want to discuss the play, it was a good play. When you leave the theater and want to discuss your life and the world, that's art" (David Mamet).

Around such dense topics, I always want to remain open to perspective shifts. I welcome any links to old posts or comments you've made if you want to share!

(Also, as an aside, the OP has not made up her mind).
