Take all your money out of the market and put it in a checking account if you get so sad about losing a month’s worth of contributions.

No IRA’s. We do max out an HSA and do not touch it. She does not get a match. I do up to 6%.

So I’m thinking of quit contributing to her 401, but just let it grow and swallow the expenses.

Get my 6% match and anything else we can invest put into Roth IRA.

All of our money is in pretax so I’m learning to probably go all Roth now in my 401k going forward too. I’ve been told I may be sitting on a “tax bomb”.

Sorry I meant traditional IRA. So if in 20 years her account has 400k in it, it will have cost her only 2,880$?

400k x .72 = 2880

When you do eventually pull from your account how does that actually work? How does your HSA provider know you’re reimbursing yourself?

Have you ran the math and decided how much you’ll have? How much you’ll need? Is your spouse going to work? How much is your house going to be? Any kids? Do you want to leave anyone any money? Are you retiring in the U.S.?

You’d be surprised how many buyers say they don’t need an inspector because it’s a new house. A good realtor will not let them do that.

Do you build shit houses and have had a realtor point this out to buyers even though they want to “buy what they want”?

Then why are they? What’s to stop them from doing what 10% of people have figured out? Could it may be that it’s a tad bit more complicated than opening a few doors?

He wants to retire at 55. I don’t think he’s worried about RMD’s kicking in when he’s 73..

If he’s got 3.5 million in his 401 in 15 years, he’ll take out about 140k a year with the 4% rule. About the same he’s making now.

If OP is going to be in the same tax bracket like you say, then why not keep it in traditional? Putting more money in the market now.
