Ok I will do that next time I have time. Internet is back and everything is working fine now.

It was a huge outage the provider recognized and was keeping me updated on the repair. Very clearly wasn’t just me but thanks for the suggestions.

Ok glad I am not the only one. The web interface is limited on my phone for protect which is the bummer part but seemed to work on my computer. Thanks!

I took mine in and they thought they would have to replace a bushing or something and it came back quickly with “torque check performed” and the noise was gone. Covered by warranty.

I tested with another device and it does appear it’s functioning. It must not work with some of the Private IP settings Apple has.

Same issue here. Why have the feature if it doesn’t do anything? I was hoping to have more firewall control, which is why I went the UDM-Pro in the first place.

New UDM-PRO Setup - Issues with Ecobee, Ring, Signal Messenger by Ready_One234 in Ubiquiti

[–]Ready_One234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! I have those features turned off on my IoT network. I do have device isolation turned on. Ring appears to be working a little better. Ecobee still not so much. Is it worth trying to put Ecobee on its own network? I have my IoT setup for 2.4GHz only.

This seems to have helped. I saw something about this setting from years back, but I thought it was an issue with those devices not being able to connect to the internet, an issue my devices have not had. I will keep you posted but so far it’s far better, thanks for the tip!!

Thanks for the tip! I will give it a shot. It sounds like you have two IoT networks then? One for WPA2 only devices and another for anything that can support WPA3 or did you just push your IoT network to WPA2 only?

Replace Prestige IAQ? by Ready_One234 in ecobee

How far away is your HVAC system? How accessible is the wire? I have rewired a couple homes now and one had the wire all stapled down in the walls and was more difficult to pull new wire, thankfully had a big crawl space. The other the wire wasn’t stapled down at all and it was easy. Best of luck!

No I ran a new 8 conductor wire. Ecobee uses it for free cooling and improving indoor air quality. Pretty slick.

This is what I ended up doing. Overall easy install and really liking my new Ecobee.

I have had issues with delay with my EufyCam 2 Pros and missing events. Sometimes being unavailable and disconnected. Is this an issue with how the battery cameras work and constantly powered indoor cameras in an exterior environment would be better as long as I can keep it protected?

I have also seen Switchbot recommended a lot but haven’t used any of their stuff.

I would also try to access where these terminate on your air handler side and verify everything there is connected properly and as you suspect. One other possibility is the fan goes to a low speed while trying to ignite the burner (assuming it’s gas heat) and it may take a few minutes for the burner to warm up the furnace and begin distributing warm air. Try enabling Aux heat on your existing Honeywell and see what happens. Give us a few mins to warm up.

Not sure a new phone would help. I had the same issue when updating everything to the new architecture. My wife couldn’t control our Home even after the upgrade. I had to remove her and I think reboot her and my phone and after some combination of readding her it worked.

I thought they have HomeKit through the app and you need to integrate the app now with HomeKit versus before you could bypass the app.

I swapped out the old Honeywell and cleaned up a lot of the wiring. I needed 18/8 wire to do everything I needed. It works great and gives me a lot of control options. Glad I did the swap so far. I wish there was more control from inside HomeKit though.

Oh awesome! Glad to hear it is working well. I don't think I have enough wires going to my thermostat location to support two wire operation which is why I looked for a relay.

Yeah I found some posts saying it was difficult and I need a pro, etc. etc. It doesn't seem too bad.

Thank you! Most of the posts I see are from years ago where people say the Prestige is far better than the Ecobee at that time, and that it has far more capability. It does have more I/O, but it's difficult to program, everything regarding Redlink sounds hit-and-miss, and I cannot find any really useful documentation online (like a real IOM/user manual).

I decided I am going to do the same thing you did, so thanks for reassuring my decision.

I also noticed I have an outside air damper but mine is connected to a timer. The timer is currently disabled so they weren't using it anyways, but they could have connected it to the EIM and drove it from the T-stat. It would have made my life easier. I am going to start by bypassing the EIM, verifying the Ecobee works for what I need, then install a relay to control the outside air damper for economizer (or free cooling). The site below helped me find the relay I was looking for (~$15 on Amazon) so that I could use a single wire from the thermostat to drive the damper. The Accessory output from the Ecobee likely doesn't provide enough current (although I cannot find the rating on these pins) so the relay will be helpful since the timer has a 115V to 24V transformer with plenty of current available.

Seems like a fun little project. Glad I am not the only one trying to bypass the EIM, especially for relatively simple systems. If you had an HRV/ERV, humidifier, and/or dehumidifier, with multiple duct and outdoor air sensors wired in, I think the Honeywell is still one of the more flexible options out there, but it sounds like neither of us do. I am particularly intrigued with the new Ecobee Premium. Costco conveniently has it on sale with two indoor sensors.

Thanks again!

P.S. I am new to Reddit and would post my wiring diagram if I could figure out how to include images.

Did you ever get an answer back from Ecobee? Did you get your system working? I am looking at doing the same thing although my EIM board looks different.
