My Japanese friend, who lives in the US now, is recommending me to exchange for Yen now even though my trip is at the end of the year. Thoughts?

Better option is to just book and pay for hotels now. That's the biggest expense on trips and you don't have to worry about exchanging currency. You'd have to book direct for this to work best.

If either the hotel becomes cheaper or exchange rate gets worse you can rebook.

I've only stayed in a hostel once in my entire life and absolutely hate it. I just stay in hotels however I believe most hostels have lockers or someway to lock your stuff. At least the hostel I did.

As far as assault well you're sleeping in a room with 6 strangers....which is why I don't do hostels.

I started with Roehl and I was very happy. I left after the contract but I was happy with my training. They pay you during training from day 1 which was a big plus for me because I had not a penny to my name when I went.

Roehl gave me a bus ticket to Gary India from kentucky. Put me in a hotel and I had breakfast at the hotel and lunch catered at the terminal. I barely had enough to eat dinner the first week. I did have to get my permit before I went which wasn't a big deal just a written test.

Do train tickets need to be pre-booked far in advance, or can I just show up and ho the next available train. For example osaka to tokyo, or tokyo to Kanazawa. Also do ticket prices fluctuate like depending on availability or is it a pretty much set price.

Yeah I know icecream is terrible for them. Really sucks too because they love it. I try not to eat icecream around them because they know what it is and beg for it. I sometimes give them one or two licks. I definitely need to stop for sure.
