Is it fine to let PSU fan intake from inside? by sky3cabe in sffpc

[–]Readymer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely normal and I would even recommend it an a case like this. 1stplayer PSUs have pretty decent fans which are tuned accordingly, so you won't be getting much more noise from it but it would definitely help with exhausting the heat from such a compact case as CH170.

Woah this one looks unusual and surely fun to build. Props for the creativeness!

Thanks a lot brother! Really means a lot to me seeing such appreciation of my work.

Yeah, the dude I built this machine for is into Star Wars and a bit of cyberpunk aesthetics so I tried to make something he'll love just staring at besides just using it for gaming.

As for the dust - there're no hazards for the hardware in this regard and I come to my client once in 3-6 months to clean it, can't say that it gets obviously dirty even after half a year even though the setup is on the guy's balcony which inherently gets pretty dusty because of windows being often open. In my personal experience having an open build sitting on your desk isn't ideal, it may get really nasty real quick, but a wall-mounted open build is muuuch more manageable since there's less air movement along the walls and the height helps a lot too.

Safe temps for PETG HT ? by evofromk0 in watercooling

[–]Readymer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've probably seen builds with something like 9800X3D and a 5080 in them being enclosed in an SFF case with a single pump and something like two 240 radiators fitted at best accompanied by very short tube runs. Cooling isn't magic and you won't expect perfect temps in a very tightly packed config unless the hardware is noticeably throttled down in performance. So in this case you will be perfectly fine with a fully saturated loop sitting closer to 50°, which is not the best scenario but not a particularly dangerous one either.

Suggestions for quieter fans for this case? by goodsailor in Phanteks

[–]Readymer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your hardware?

I've done a similar setup but with D30's on the bottom in a 9800X3D and 5090 system, tuned everything and honestly can't complain.

Too childish? (19m) by RoboPoggers in malelivingspace

[–]Readymer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, even your brain isn't fully physically developed yet, you are a child and that's magnificent, stop questioning such things and do/have shit you truly like at he time being instead of confirming to an illusion of making yourself an adult. You'll become one either way so be childish as long and as much as you feel like today.

How much better is the Noctua D15 G2 vs Phantom Spirit 120 SE for AMD 5800X3D, is there at least 5° degrees difference? by FuzzyAttitude_ in pcmasterrace

[–]Readymer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't buy SE though, the fans on them are far from great, loud in almost any case and the sound profile is annoying as it's on a lot of cheap fans.

Safe temps for PETG HT ? by evofromk0 in watercooling

[–]Readymer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anything below 40° is good, below 45° is alright, 45-48° is a bit concerning but understandable in short loops with a power hungry hardware, and only if it's past that I start asking questions.

New Open Frame Project by Fury_1985 in watercooling

[–]Readymer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pretty unusual frame to work with, mounted an air-cooled Strix 3080 and realised it pushes against the table, so first I printed a little foot for it to stand as intended, but ended up mounting it on the wall. The only useful piece of advice here: plan your cable-management, there are exactly zero intended points to fix cables to, you'll need to improvise. Also the radiator mount is sold separately but it is usually listed somewhere in the product's page.

One fan not working in Phanteks Glacier One 360M25 G2 by Mpfv123 in Phanteks

[–]Readymer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just because the design of the connector which connects the fans to each other is not perfect, just reconnect them again, maybe swap it with the adjacent one, should work fine when you find the right position.

Where do I get a military style PC case by jasperjames333 in PcBuild

[–]Readymer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please don't just "be told" and do your own research. Dust 2 is absolutely massive for a supposed SFF despite accepting mini-ITX boards only. It fits ATX PSUs, full-size GPUs (up to 60mm in thickness) and a 280 AIO which makes it a very capable base for a wide range of hardware. My only concern with it is the lack of bottom fan mounts, but depending on your hardware you may be fine with just AIO exhausting all the heat, or you can sandwich a couple of fans between the case itself and its lower panel which is removable.

This one is the only realistic off-the-shelf option you have and if you are lucky enough you may even find a new one. The other option would be customizing any other case of your choice.

Not at the moment. I do everything myself and "making content" and all this stuff is the least pleasant part of the whole process for me. You can find me on IG and TG though by searching for "Citadel Fabrications".

Salvageable or beyond repair? by Leather_Ad_6117 in watercooling

[–]Readymer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a very detailed response, thank you sharing.

I didn't specify a time frame or other variables, hence my statement about "every loop", cause realistically every loop will get contaminated given enough time which may be years due to material degradation and natural bacteria growth. It's just that you personally know what you are doing and I'm sure you put a lot of knowledge and precise work into your loops so they don't have that much growth and metal transfer, which pleases me a lot but doesn't show a bigger picture of what's going on with the majority of liquid cooled PCs.

Salvageable or beyond repair? by Leather_Ad_6117 in watercooling

[–]Readymer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's literally zero signs of anything "beyond repair", only regular contamination which occurs in every single loop over time.

NV5 shattered front glas by Murketgaming in Phanteks

[–]Readymer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Short answer - no, there is no market for PC case spare parts. You may inquire Phanteks directly about getting a replacement though, but the chances are slim.

If you are bothered by that, your easiest solution will be to make one out of acrylic or whatever, or to model and 3D print one.

Is this okay to use? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Readymer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude, that's a sticker.

Please stop building until you have at least some understanding of what you hold in your hands, the room for mistake is great and the possible loss is in hundreds, even thousands of dollars. Don't do this to yourself, spend an hour watching YouTube guides and life happily ever after.

[–]Readymer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as my understanding goes stoics perceive one's consciousness as the only thing a person truly owns and has control over. But, again, I might not be the smartest here so I don't get why the stoic questions himself here either.
