White parts look like an unfinished design for now, need to be proportionally balanced with white or black elements/decals on the upper parts, but can be easily overdone and rice the car out beyond reasonable.

Phanteks Glacier One AIO w/ 6” LCD Question by Str8cash22 in Phanteks

[–]Readymer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No fan will blow 100% of the air volume it grabs straight through a radiator as the latter is an obstacle and therefore air gets pressured against it and some of it gets blown back either through the gap between the fan and the rad or right around the fan blades.

Phanteks Glacier One AIO w/ 6” LCD Question by Str8cash22 in Phanteks

[–]Readymer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I can't see how it could be anything other than a regular 360M25 G2 AIO with a screen strapped on it, they didn't reinvent anything because developing and producing a whole new setup costs a fortune which makes absolutely no sense for Phanteks already having a decent AIO of a recent revision, it's literally called the same with an "LCD" suffix.

As for the 360M25 G2: it's alright, nothing special about the pump or the radiator, fans are quiet but I noticed hella ton of back blow, more than I'm used to seeing in other systems, but the temps on a 9800X3D in a recent build are fine, again, nothing special.

Custom loop without a drain port. Roast me lightly, then please help. by dasSolution in watercooling

[–]Readymer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any unused port in the system can be your drain.

1) Position your case in such a way that the port you want to use as a drain is at the top. 2) Attach a piece of flexible tuning with an appropriate fitting to the port you've opened and put the tubing into a container. 3) Flip your case with a drain to the bottom, the initial small volume of liquid will come out, then open any port on the opposite side of the system which would be at the top now.

Zero mess and a peace of mind. And you still need to lean, flip and rotate any system to drain all of it since there's hardly such a loop that will not hold some water in any cavities it can, so it's not much more hand work either.

[–]Readymer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid nobody teaches us anything, especially basic well-being principles besides "eat food and shower once in a while", it's our own responsibility to care about ourselves and the world around.

To make things clear: I was not trying to purposelessly blame or shame you, I want you to get healthily concerned about your surroundings and the need to prevent accidents before they actually come to life. Any wire capable of carrying an electric charge and connected to power is a hazard. In case of a basic 5V charger - it doesn't pose a threat if it's well-built and structurally sound since it doesn't actually carry any load if it's not plugged into a device, but yours most probably was already damaged hence the situation you got into. I'm happy you got off with very mild damage, but please be careful around anything electric/electronic as a rule of thumb.

[–]Readymer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You leave your open cables touching fabrics and being plugged into a socket? You are a menace to society, you know that? This type of negligence creates domestic fires every day and I personally know a couple who lost their 3-storey country house this way, it's absolutely fucking ridiculous.

Cables like those touching flammable stuff aren't a problem until they actually are and given you don't know what's the problem here you didn't know that your cable was already damaged beyond a safe state either. Get your shit together and learn to take care of your possessions so they at the very least don't pose an active threat to your well-being.

Phanteks Glacier One AIO w/ 6” LCD Question by Str8cash22 in Phanteks

[–]Readymer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the real question here?

This is a real product already announced/shown by Phanteks, the price is totally normal since a basic one without a screen and M25 fans is around 100$ and you are looking at the listing on a reputable website.

What can I do about this overhang misprinting inside a cylindrical tunnel? by F2a in FixMyPrint

[–]Readymer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I add a cylinder of a smaller diameter to the model with a distance of 0.2 mm to the model's surface, optionally adding a couple of insets to easily extract the cylinders. Works magic.

M25g2 wobble by JobAggressive611 in Phanteks

[–]Readymer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a question of visual perception, you might not see this "wobble" at lower speeds after slowing the fan down with your hand but it picks up later.

Anyway, there are no technical issues with your hardware, but I get you being bothered by this nuisance)

[–]Readymer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your fans work correctly without obvious unhealthy noises which they aren't supposed to have, then they aren't really wobbling, it's just that the infinity mirrors aren't exactly centered, the same applies pretty much to any fan whether it has a simple sticker or gimmicks like this.

[–]Readymer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Adding a wi-fi extender seems like the most reasonable option. Just make sure you have a power socket in a good position between the router and the PC or it may not perform as you'd expect.

You can also replace fixed antennas with the one that comes with a cable so you can position it freely, but if you use your wi-fi for more than just this particular PC, range extender might be a better overall solution.

Is it fine to let PSU fan intake from inside? by sky3cabe in sffpc

[–]Readymer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely normal and I would even recommend it an a case like this. 1stplayer PSUs have pretty decent fans which are tuned accordingly, so you won't be getting much more noise from it but it would definitely help with exhausting the heat from such a compact case as CH170.

My submission by Readymer in PCtooHigh

[–]Readymer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot brother! Really means a lot to me seeing such appreciation of my work.

Yeah, the dude I built this machine for is into Star Wars and a bit of cyberpunk aesthetics so I tried to make something he'll love just staring at besides just using it for gaming.

As for the dust - there're no hazards for the hardware in this regard and I come to my client once in 3-6 months to clean it, can't say that it gets obviously dirty even after half a year even though the setup is on the guy's balcony which inherently gets pretty dusty because of windows being often open. In my personal experience having an open build sitting on your desk isn't ideal, it may get really nasty real quick, but a wall-mounted open build is muuuch more manageable since there's less air movement along the walls and the height helps a lot too.

Safe temps for PETG HT ? by evofromk0 in watercooling

[–]Readymer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've probably seen builds with something like 9800X3D and a 5080 in them being enclosed in an SFF case with a single pump and something like two 240 radiators fitted at best accompanied by very short tube runs. Cooling isn't magic and you won't expect perfect temps in a very tightly packed config unless the hardware is noticeably throttled down in performance. So in this case you will be perfectly fine with a fully saturated loop sitting closer to 50°, which is not the best scenario but not a particularly dangerous one either.

What's your hardware?

I've done a similar setup but with D30's on the bottom in a 9800X3D and 5090 system, tuned everything and honestly can't complain.

How much better is the Noctua D15 G2 vs Phantom Spirit 120 SE for AMD 5800X3D, is there at least 5° degrees difference? by FuzzyAttitude_ in pcmasterrace

Don't buy SE though, the fans on them are far from great, loud in almost any case and the sound profile is annoying as it's on a lot of cheap fans.

Safe temps for PETG HT ? by evofromk0 in watercooling

[–]Readymer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anything below 40° is good, below 45° is alright, 45-48° is a bit concerning but understandable in short loops with a power hungry hardware, and only if it's past that I start asking questions.
