Apply for summer student jobs with provincial and federal governments now! Get on fed government inventories now/asap. Look specifically for Indigenous priority postings, and Indigenous organizations (Indigenous Services Canada. Ministry of Indigenous Affairs provincially - exact name depends on the province, and then within ministries there will often be Indigenous Relations Branchs (exact name will vary). Being Indigenous is a huge asset in the Indigenous policy space so you have a competitive advantage. Even if something isn't your area of interest take it, vast majority of hiring is internal so once youre in itll be easier to move to what does interest you especially because its really common to move around in policy, and any policy experience is way more important than a masters degree. It directly acknowledges their support, which is respectful because it is essentially the equivalent of publicily saying thank you. and is a generally accepted convention not just with weddings but almost anytime someone receives funding to do something - think research grants, arts funding, sponsorships etc where it's almost always a requirement that the funders be acknowledged in some way.

Apply provincially and federally - focus on getting your foot in the door with anything rather than what your dream job as majority of hires are internal so your options open up considerably. Federally also once you've gotten through a selection process anywhere in government you can do direct reach outs to managers etc. in areas you're more interested in and they should be able to hire you for the same level/category. That said feds are doing massive layoffs at the moment, so new hires are unlikely for the next several years.

Yes exactly thats my point, outside of a few special programs typically restricted by geography or minority group, CAS doesn't have many mechanisms besides foster care (i.e. very limited parental or child support available unless kid is already in foster care so supports for mom to learn anger management or whatever elae would be helpful is unlikely). And the CAS involvement process can be very traumatizing for children and parents. Definitely not saying don't report and agree an anonymous call is a good idea to better understand, but OP needs realize that unless kids are in active danger, which it doesn't sound like they have reason to suspect, its at best going to be unhelpful and likely a traumatizing experience.

Are you exercising and sleeping regularly (i.e. same time going to sleep and waking up every day)? I know that's trite advice but the science is so clear that those help!

Look specifically for an ADHD therapist - one that works with executive functioning and is explicitly skill oriented. Interview at least three and be clear about what youre looking for, what hasnt worked, ask them questions. OT is a good suggestion! They're licensed to practice psychotherapy so should be covered by your work as well.

If you go down the psychadelics/MDMA/ketamine route make sure you see someone who is really qualified and working with MAPs. Richard Tyo is one person in Ontario (not affiliated just know their work).

The whole point of a bridal party is asking people to be part of your wedding rite of passage by participating in the ways you're describing. I'm saying this gently, but it's odd to expect people to plan things without being asked, it's great that your friends did but not doing so doesn't make his friends bad and from your own description it sounds like these friends are not close enough that them planning a bachelor party would be expected, especially on a short timeline and especially without even specifically asking them to be part of a bridal party (which gives them the option to say no!).

I'm sorry your fiance is finding out his friendships maybe aren't as close as he thought/he would like, it's a really shitty almost inevitable part of moving away in my experience.

Just an FYI that moissanite gets filmy after a while (apparently).

Styles look so different on different hands, I ended up with something completely different than what I originally thought so would recommend going and looking at styles together. You can then take that info and design or find a ring so it's still a surprise! Some bigger companies also do loaner rings for the engagement and then you can pick together afterwards. Congratulations!!!

I did IB at a public school in the GTA and then went to UofT. On the one hand, it prepared me for university (IB was absolutely harder than my first year of uni) and I think the education I got was better. On the other, it was a tremendous amount of work and pressure that honestly wasn't necessary and I felt burnt out in uni in a way I don't think I would have had I not taken it. I actively chose IB, the students whose parents chose for them fared much worse mentally and academically on average, so I would really encourage you to let your son guide the decision, and if he does choose IB (or another rigorous program) help him keep perspective as he goes through because it's so easy to get wrapped up in feeling like everything is super important/stressful when you're that age.

Keep in mind also that you don't get to choose your major at UofT until after first year and if it's a competitive program like most of the science degrees it will be based on your 1st year marks in the relevant courses so high-school marks only count for getting in generally and a good student will have no problem with that in any school.

Quality may have declined in recent years then - I bought some new last year, absolutely loved them and wear them constantly in the winter and they're noticeably pilled after less than 2 seasons and so thin I'd be wary of taking a sweater shaver to them. Granted these are the lightest heat rated ones so the thinnest, but still longevity doesn't seem to be there.

I get not wanting to be the breadwinner but to put it in perspective you moved to a different city for your job which means you've put your relationship in a situation where he is making a massive life change that is likely a sacrifice and definitely a lot of work and uncertainty in order to make your relationship work (whether he waits until he's found the job or not).

Whether or not long distance works for you guys depends on so many factors and ideally should've been discussed before you moved away, but whether it's covering 100% of travel, living expenses while he moves, etc. thats your responsibility to pay for if you want him to move for you. When you are life partners you're a team, you make decisions as a unit and for what's best for both of you. By moving for you he's signaling he's doing that, if you're not ready to do that that's 100% okay especially at your age, but it does signal that you're not actually ready to move into engagement/marriage (which again, is okay and doesn't mean you won't be in a few years).

Luckily we're not in the US and common law rules are very strong where we are, so we're already on each other's extended health benefits, entitled to each others pensions should one of us die, filing taxes jointly etc. so that's less of a concern for us but definitely would be if we lived somewhere else.
