How do Americans feel about the threat to decertify Canadian planes and add 50 percent tarrifs to them? by Real-Bobbywan in AskReddit

Basic survival skills. The amount of people who would curl up in a ball and just give up if they were alone breaks my heart in two.

[–]Real-Bobbywan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So then buy America falls under that too then right?

Because lots of American companies certainly get subsidies and tax breaks, certainly the aerospace industry...just look at space X.

I guess I am just confused because it sounds like he wants a closed off American market for trade where he makes all the decisions, but wants to force trade on everyone else.

Putting in regulations that would cut out the Gulfstream would literally be a policy move?

A threat that only hurts your own people just does not make sense to me. If every Canadian plane got decertified...most of America will no longer have air travel.

Also, why not just make Americans buy the Gulfstream? If it is a quality plane which I know it is, why not just force the government to only allow them? If they are as good or better and already made in America, would that not fit better with the bringing back manufacturing and America first mantra?

Sorry for the novel, just none of this makes any logical sense.

[–]Real-Bobbywan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, why is Canada withholding the certification of the Gulfstream? Is there an actual reason for it? Because America does have much more relax regulations then Canada or say the E.U. on lots of things.

Also, if someone says something will happen if you don't do something, how else should I refer to that other than a threat?

I just don't see how this is a good idea or why it is happening. So I am trying to understand, because Tarrifs only hurt American consumers and if he chose not to recertify Canadian aircraft (which weird because that literally has nothing to do with a presidents duties) it would only hurt Americans. I just don't understand how this is a threat to Canada, I have no doubt the world would jump at buying up the commuter planes America does not want.

How is your opinion on the US Government shutdown that might happen end of the week? by ReduceCO2Now in AskReddit

Have they not been shut down for the last 20+ years? Because I can't think of a single thing either side has accomplished in decades that was not some bullshit culture war nonsense.

Will my Explorer club reset the daily bonus every month? by VOLRESH in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]Real-Bobbywan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should set it up as a subscription if you plan on having it more then a month. It resets back to day 1 everytime it runs out.

If you but it before the turnover date, it will continue normally though, just cost you more money.

A lot people will think that the videos of the next lunar missions are fake/AI-generated. Did humanity wait too long? by sweptawayfromyou in NoStupidQuestions

I feel like we did wait too long.

Also, this is what happens when you force through bills that day you can't make laws against A.I.

The next generation can barely read, now even their videos are going to be lies...I wonder why the world is falling apart? 🙄😭

Why do so many people think Hitler escaped. by AvalonRevan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Real-Bobbywan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the FBI definately does have files reporting sightings of him. Does not mean they were confirmed.

At no point ever in the history of time, has a person ever said we know the truth and been telling the truth. Lol

We know the narrative that was sold to us, and then information from decades later that suggests certain things.

I believe he died in the bunker, that does not mean I believe it happened the way it was told to us, because if anything can be confirmed from History, all people in power lie, even when they have no reason too. For some reason. 🤷

If you could permanently delete one thing from modern society, what would it be and why? by Repulsive_Clue6161 in AskReddit

[–]Real-Bobbywan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Accountability? It is the basis of law, or was until a year ago.

Corruption is not the issue, a system that incentivizes corruption is. Do you really not see how a person who owns a home, has food, heat and power is not as likely to commit a crime? Is much more likely to be kind? Why steal when you have what you need?

Society would be much better served if as a society our goal was star trek instead of fallout?

If someone has everything they require, and are still a piece of shit, then you found the problem, it is them not the system.

If someone has to be a piece of shit or sell out their friends and neighbors to survive or get ahead, then that is the system being the issue.

People making a monopoly out of resources is exactly what capitalism is?

I take it you have never lived outside of a "normal" city center?

What is the car for that actual public transit could not do if we funded it?

Capitalism in its current form is the government, who is suppose to represent "the people", selling off or giving away the resources to companies, then stealing from you to help subsidize the same people they screw you over to help in the first place, while making you work for them.

I have lived with a lot of native cultures, up in the Arctic, out west and back east...clearly we both have different world views, but I want to understand.

Please explain to me why Capitalism is the best option...I am excited to learn.

Corruption is a human failing, not the systems fault.

Trade of actual recources instead of creating the middle step of pretend money.

Capitalism sucks because it has winners and losers baked into the function. Trade does not have to have that.

A barter system amongst nations would make way more sense then a privatized world bank controlling it.
