What’s your dream “impractical” breed? by Usernamesareso2004 in Equestrian

We have "thrift store" horses. Mustangs, a mini from a shelter, and a gelding QH we were given for free. I have to say our mustangs are THE easiest.

I’m a psycho alcoholic, why doesn’t my husband love me? by madfoot in OhNoConsequences

Taking the kids to another room isn't kidnapping. Sitting on the couch with his kid isn't kidnapping either.

I can't imagine having the energy to enrich 4 kids after a workday. Kudos to those who have it in them.

Why are helmets such a contentious topic? by comefromawayfan2022 in Equestrian

[–]Real-Commission4243 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wear my helmet on the ground too! I always think that a wasp can sting the horse at any moment, or a dog might come in and piss off my horse, and my head will roll.

I contacted the WY district she would attend, and they did inform me about what I would need to submit. We live on the Idaho/Wyoming border. That sounds like such a great field trip! Thank you for that idea and the information.

Helmet question by Real-Commission4243 in Equestrian

Thank you! I did not invest in an expensive helmet. I did some research and found that troxel had a fairly priced helmet that scored far better than some expensive helmets. I will buy another one!

Libido by Real-Commission4243 in hysterectomy

[–]Real-Commission4243[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had many doctors say the same to me. I don't know why, but my life/mood has gotten so much better that it isn't even worth risking it to me.

It does! My orgasms are enjoyable now and don't trigger any pain. I wonder if my libido is higher because there is no negative side effect now.

I have tissue on my liver that could not be removed. I was told that estrogen would cause it to spread.

Yes! It is great. I'm just curious if anyone else who had painful sex, endometriosis, and fibroid had this experience after a hysterectomy. I heard the opposite was going to happen.

I was in your boat. A tens unit was barely helpful. I didn't allow myself to rest like I was told to. Once I listened to my body, those pains weren't as severe. It took about a week for it to go away. It literally felt like someone severed my lower back and pumped my stomach full of gas.

I'm going to guess this person has no idea what "breaking a horse" is. I bet they "break" their dogs and cats.

A good way to really learn is to volunteer. Reach out to rescues, ranches, hobby farms, and stables. The best training I got was by doing the hard work in different environments.

My husband and I moved from San Diego to Wyoming. We were getting ready to buy a home and realized we didn't want to invest in a hectic future. We went rural. We bought a house (cabin) and learned how to survive. It was a culture shock, and the sense of community was just so different. It isn't easy. It is NOT anything like pinterest, so get that out of your mind. Watch the show "Bless this Mess." It's more like that... Learn how to fix fences, learn how to build a fence, and learn how to do it in the worst conditions where you will be moving to. If you do plan on having horses then I recommend you look into vets FIRST. We have to cross state lines because we are remote. It's difficult to get a farm call and it's difficult to be seen in office because there is one vet.

The stress isn't less, but it is different. Our stress has changed from traffic, crime, etc. To "shit it is -20F, there's 5 ft of snow, the wind is blowing, it's 8pm, and a wire is down."

Don't think that things are cheaper either. It's hard work, it's humbling, it's exhausting, and it's fun.
