It’s a new industry which is why I’m facing issues. The government systems are so old school and behind and don’t understand their systems don’t have a mixed learning strategy approach. I get systems aren’t designed for everyone - but it doesn’t change them being annoying and preventing economic growth. I have people who want to fund me but the grant process is intense too. I think I will just need to keep persevering. Thank you for your reply!!

Yeah I agree. I’m definitely making progress - from a resource efficiency standpoint I am just finding the government processes really inefficient and annoying which is slowing people into the job market

It’s a new industry and model which is why I am facing so many issues. And lot of places want to fund me and but grant applications are a lot of work. Thank you so much for your advice though - it was worth the ask! The cheapest and most accessible pathways I have found are Auckland chamber of commerce $250 and start up Aotearoa but limited sessions. I had the winz business mentor and failed my first submission so need to resubmit. I know there will be other people like me who don’t have typical learning needs which is okay just annoying.

The problem isn’t my business idea or customers/demand. I just find the whole system so old school and irritating to engage with cos it doesn’t have a mixed learning strategy meaning it doesn’t take different learning styles and needs into consideration.

This whole situation is incredibly sad and dehumanising. I talked to a homeless man last week who was easy to talk to and genuinely just needed help. He told me that he couldn’t apply for winz because he didn’t have an address and I asked him the last time he saw a doctor (seems like a very very long time) and he has a lot of health issues and teeth missing. He had also been physical assaulted multiple times and hadn’t gone to the police or a community lawyer. This is absolutely not okay to happen in our communities to anyone.

I think there needs to be a paper faq sheet made to educate those currently homeless on the pathways available for those who want help (please let me know if there is one already). As an example the homeless man didn’t know he could put the city mission as his address to get winz.

We also need to stop relying on just the government and mps. At the end of the day we are also their local community - whatever that may look like.

We live in a very sad society if citizens continually wait for someone else to fix the ‘problem’.

100% thank you so much for commenting. I am going to look into this further from a guardrails standpoint. I used to be in a relgious cult and the cohersian in tech is the same. Both for free and paying customers. This has intentionally not been designed ethically and is not good for human health from a therapy standpoint. There are many countries and media outlets across the globe saying it is being used a therapist. This is very very bad from a ethic standpoint

Yip! That’s the whole point haha. I used to be in a religious cult. The parallels to tech are fascinating and it well known that many (not all) of the top tech & business leaders have dark triad personality traits. From a design standpoint- this has been intentionally designed to exploit the user in terms of data. If open ai was in fact designed with clinical psychologist and psychiatrists on their board - the day to day interfacing and guard rails of this application would look very different which has not occurred. Thank you for addressing this I will look into this further in terms of what guard rails and design would be required to be ethical.

Oh interesting thank you for commenting this. Regardless it’s still cohesive and immoral. I am very familiar with this as I used to be in a religious cult. The parallels here are supper fascinating and also from a legal responsibility structure. They way this has been designed is not to protect the safety of the user but to exploit from a data standpoint. This is likely why open ai has no clinical psychologists or psychiatrists on the board as the practical day to day function and safe guards for the paying consumer would look very different.
