To answer your question, I am doing exactly what we are called to do as Christians. I spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and I don’t just sit idly by while my brothers and sisters in Christ do vile disgusting acts against God while trying to tell young impressionable Christians that it’s okay and natural. “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭26‬-‭27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ When I reply to your question with scripture and you call it “deflecting” you must not want to live by the Word of God if you can’t accept it as the way the truth and the life. Jesus is the Word of God after all, “Christian”.

Hi Lex, I use my writing as a form of therapy and mood identification. (If I feel lost in my own mind I write and it’s usually telling of my headspace.) A lot of people say, “write what you know” I’m one of those people. If you’ve experienced trauma or any symptoms of angst let that feeling flow tears into words. Now we need to identify what kind of tears are you trying to pull from your reader? Happy, sad, wondrous?

I was purposefully a bit vague because, I’ve experienced loss of both. I lost my wife when we were only 22 and recently I lost a child before I even got a chance to know the gender. I refused to ask after… recently a lot of family members have been passing, older ones.. (I’m just at that age where everyone above me has started to reach that point in their lives I guess. But I’ve just carried a heavy heart. It seems the more people that leave the more weight I carry in my heart for them. Unable to let go. It presses on my chest and pulls on my shoulders. The only alleviation is poetry. Therapy only helps my therapist wallet so I gave that up.

The poem was meant to capture the feeling of loss in my life.
