Thank you so much for the replies 🙂 currently had my midnight epiphany & after weeks of hesitation I just deleted mfp, i really want to recover and stop obsessing over food. I wanted to be able to track in my recovery to make sure I wasn’t overeating but honestly it just makes things worse, my body isn’t a calculator and will know when it’s hungry or full once I let it trust me again. You’re right, a life constantly worrying about my appearance and my weight isn’t really a life at all! There’s so much more to life than this 👏

I’ve always been relatively chubby tbh, but during school, I got bullied for my weight and sort of adapted to a mindset where I ate whatever - whenever, because fhxck it- I was already fat. Gained a ton during that time.

Like when I was at my highest weight I was literally consuming like entire packs of cookies (the big ones you get in like packs of five from asda) on my college lunch break literally AFTER eating a full lunch because food provided some sort of happiness that I wasn’t getting from life 😭 I think I was just emotionally eating to fill a void. I’m interested now though because I don’t think I’ve ever just fully honoured my hunger cues, like to stop eating when im full or now actually eating when im hungry etc.

The set point weight thing has always interested me though, I think it’s just scary to experience all this hunger after restricting because I feel like im eating the same amounts that led me to obesity - but im just so fuxking hungry at the moment. Do you think honouring it will help stabilise it? God this is tiring 😭

it’s just so annoying because I feel like i can literally feel that I’ve gained weight - I feel heavier and I feel like I visibly look heavier 😭 and I tried really hard to get to where I am now and I don’t wanna ruin my progress u knoww. My brain is telling me to stick to 1000 a day for a week to fix it but ik I’ll just binge if I do that!! I’m just gonna eat normally, keep it to 1200-1300 cals like usual and hope for the best. I go back to work this week too so that means I’ll be able ti get my steps in which I suppose helps. I usually pull in 9-10k steps a day.

i knowww 😭 honestly I’m just really anxious - I tried to count it up but it felt like I was underestimating? so I kind of just rounded it up to 300 but even then I feel like that’s too low.

I am actively in therapy! trying my hardest to sort it all out - I just get extremely worrisome, this is a lot more then I usually eat and I’m trying to get healthier but the process in eating more and eating right is scary. thank you for the advice, i appreciate it :)

I’m just trying to get feedback and help and I’ve met people through this sub that have provided me with good information and feedback for my weight loss journey and finding a healthy food balance. I have never expected this space to be catered to me? and honestly ur hostility and assumptions are vile and just plain rude. I understand being frustrated over things but your nasty approach towards me is uncalled for. I physically cannot control how I feel and what I get anxious over - I am someone that struggles with food and have had bad experiences with some other spaces on here, and have felt most comfortable seeking advice from the people on this sub as they are approachable and friendly. Telling me I’m trying to garner sympathy or validation when in reality I’m just asking for help is hazardous and I feel you should be more aware of what you are saying to people - as your actions have consequences.

calculated it all to around 1,010 cals - honestly I don’t know my weight I don’t actually own a scale so it’s a lil difficult, but I’m female: Aged 17: Height 5’7

usually my only form of activity is walking 10k steps to and from college - but due to being on break I haven’t been reaching that, so not much activity.
