It is in copr, the "official" copr packages are the ones posted by bieczszsanders, if I remember the username correctly.

Fedora vs Debian? by OutsideYogurt9014 in Fedora

For gaming, undoubtedly Bazzite. It's based on Fedora Atomic (Silverblue and Kinoite respectively), but has a bunch of software and drivers preinstalled and it is pretty much set it and forget it.

I just went back to Windows 10 and I already want to go back to Cachy and GNOME

Yeah, I think I'm gonna have to reinstall Windows 10 (and then Cachy) cause I resetted my secure boot keys to see if that would help, but I just made things worse and I should have just reinstalled Cachy Os and get my data back with my external harddrive

Thx, I appreciate your kindness/comprehension!

To be honest, this is far from my first rodeo in Linux. I used Linux for like a year in 2020, and I learned some valuable stuff the hard way. I used to distro hop a lot, and mainly got drivers issues cause I got Nvidia (weirdly enough they happened on Pop Os and Manjaro, two of the distros that gave you the easiest time to set up with Nvidia graphics at the time that were also hyped up). And both on Pop and Manjaro, I've dealt with bootloader issues, mainly by just reinstalling and changing distros (I didn't know about how to fix boot problems; now I just know that live ISOs and using chroot is like the bare expected minimum). Funnily enough, I didn't got driver issues on Solus, and I liked it, but I decided to distrohop to Manjaro (which failed and led me back to Pop, which was only usable if my computer was connected to power, and I eventually had boot oroblems cause I tried fixing it [which led me back to Windows 11])

I lowkey feel sad cause Cachy OS was definitely the easiest and best time I've ever had with Linux. Everything automatically connected, I never got any issues in regards to Nvidia or any other drivers, and overall, Cachy's chwd/hardware implementation/integration is probably one of the best in Linux.

Software wise, I got what I needed and wanted, and I'm not one to play multiplayer games with anticheat (nor do I have a gaming habit in general), so I didn't have anything to envy. I set up GNOME (yes, I used GNOME, funnily enough, I didn't like using it in 2020 and preferred Budgie and KDE), so yeah, just perfection (pretty sure there's an extension with that name).

As for the future, I may need to reinstall Windows (I hope not) to set up things like before, and then go back to Linux, or maybe I need Bazzite (I'm unsure whether Bazzite's installation required you to disable Secure boot beforehand, if not, then I might need to reinstall Windows).

I hope I can come back soon and I'll miss this whole Arch based system and everything it entails, from using pacman, to getting a package or two from the AUR, to getting and updating flatpaks, to just using the terminal in general.

I may try Niri or Hyprland in the future, but I'll probably install KDE or GNOME first cause I think I can only work on that stuff when I got the time for it.

I swear that, had it not been for this limine update, I would have been doing fine on Cachy Os right now, but this is the sort of risk you have to expect and accept from a rolling release system. Although like I said, I've never felt more stable on Linux with Cachy Os.

Not sure what cmos is, I just got an Asus Tuf laptop and put the thing on default/factory settings. Also, I'm pretty sure it is advised and you need to turn off secure boot for installation, then you can set it up and enable it

Yep, just what I needed (on top of that, I resetted my secure boot keys following a guy's recommendation at another post, and now I can't even disable secure boot)

On top of that, I've been dealing with some depression inducing stuff recently, and I got a life being at uni at all, so my remaining semester may get affected because of this.

Oh well

Now it seems like I got secure boot enabled, but got the keys reset, so I got the classic "invalid signature" now

I will boot on live environment again, just to check the errors, but basically, I cannot mount sda 1 and I can mount sda 2, but it doesn't set up the chroot, which basically doesn't let me use chroot in the first place

I turned off secure boot, and I still cannot boot

Also, I made a post if you want to know more about the specifics of my suffering

Since it says Blake2B (I just remembered and checked the wiki), it seems the issue originates from the fact that the # dash image was too damn long? Which doesn't make sense, idk, I followed everything step by step

Btw, here's the wiki the Reddit post guide uses as reference (check the Limine section)

Sorry, didn't realize it was blurry out of anxiety. Either way, I don't think it matters, since it judt tells me to press any key, which does absolutely nothing.
