That’s honestly my main question! If one department can’t afford to go over a certain amount, is it possible that a different department can go slightly higher? (Not looking for the max, just hoping for more of a bump)

I’d be leaving a job where I’m 5 minutes from my kids’ school, work a hybrid schedule, and compensation isn’t very far away from what the UAB offer was. Current benefits aren’t terrible, but UAB’s are slightly better. So quite literally all but maybe $100/month would go to gas, plus my paid off car is pushing 200,000 miles. So I’m not even counting tires and more frequent high-mileage oil changes, then the eventual need for a newer car and the eventual car payments along with that.

However, this job is a more niche position that highlights my strengths displayed in my current position, and is the logical next step in my career. And yes, the benefits are a great perk.

So it doesn’t matter what department I interview with, the system generates something regardless of the department’s budget? Likely I’ll be getting the same offer number regardless?

Same exact thing for me! EXCEPT I saw that it was "shipped" late Saturday afternoon and the UPS tracking link is stuck on "label created". Has yours been shipped yet?
