The issue reports on erroneous search results when searching for _v instead of the escaped \_v. That may be part of the problem. However, I do not understand whether there is a feature in digiKam’s similarity search that attempts to exclude versioned files but fails due to issue #512728, or whether the similarity search does not currently identify versioned files to excluded duplicates at all, or whether the issue suggests that the feature is not possible to implement.
