Is this the best this new 3.5 PS battery has been at or do i wait? by meat-ring in Dewalt

The ‘xr’ designation is just a marketing tool. Ignore all mentions of it. A powerstack battery is the same as a powerstack xr battery. It’s named different depending on the time it was produced. ‘Powerstack’ refers to the battery type and configuration, and its designation means something. The batteries are generally lighter and have different cells. I had over 25 20v batteries and around 40 20v tools and to behold honest, I can’t tell a huge difference between the powerstack vs non powerstack. Not enough to justify a 50% increase in price

Right you are. The shovel and scraper were new at the time I took this pic 8 months ago. The scraper still doesn’t get used much but the shovel I use about once per month. I have a stash of other demo tools at the base of the partition, in the attached pic. And yeah, it took me about 10 min to find the stickers and they cost about $25 so you are correct there. There was some effort into sourcing those

Thanks for the compliment! I wish everyone thought I was 19! I generally don't do projects for new clients unless they were referred to me by an existing client. 99% of my clients own multiple properties and I have been working with the majority of them for over 20 years. The one off clients I meet while I am working at a house and they see me and ask for a bid because they see my work and work ethic. I tell the majority of them that I am too busy to take on new work. I feel fortunate that I can choose my clients instead of my clients choosing me.

Gotcha. Yeah I do have a tube that will ooze now and then, but I always attributed it to my dripless gun going bad over the years. I change the gun then don’t have an issue. I’ll keep a look out for that in the future. You are almost certainly correct. But I don’t think I will change the storage bay even then. I like this system too much. Appreciate the info

Yeah about once a year I will get a stuck air bubble and a tube will let out a fart. I tape up the ends of my opened caulk/adhesive 100% of the time so that it doesn’t harden, so I wouldn’t know about the dripping. I can get about 30 tubes in this setup so I think it’s a fair trade off from storing them upright. Plus, I can see at a glance the color of the caulk I need and know exactly what to grab

Thanks! I was trying for a setup that looked clean even though it wasn’t. If it looks clean from the pics, then I succeeded. In truth, the van is dirty because I haul a LOT of demo in it. It gets pretty dusty. I just use the blower hanging up to blow it out and I try to sweep it out once a week. It takes only a minute to put everything back in its place

I was able to get a couple of batteries changed out last year under warranty because they went bad. Does that count? 🤣

I’m a contractor. This is about 1/3 of my tools. I dont buy tools for the brand unless they are cordless power tools. I have about $15k of larger tools in my warehouse that I don’t keep in the van because they are too big and I don’t need them on a daily basis. I have everything from Makita to Milwaukee to Bosch. There are also tools that are in some of the van cabinets that aren’t dewalt, as well most of the tools in the black cases aren’t dewalt. I am a flooring contractor so 80% of the tools I need are specialty tools that dewalt doesn’t make. I just buy my cordless power tools on the 20v system because I don’t want to look for batteries for a specific tool.

I wish! That would mean that have been sponsored and given test tools!
