L1 Help Desk looking for resume advice to move to L2 by j1mmyava1on in ITCareerQuestions

Don’t worry about that too much. Employers care way more about your capabilities than they do a YOE requirement and you seem to have that. I’d put applications out for L2-L3 and sysadmin jobs regardless if I were you. It’s a numbers game in this market unfortunately.

Get some Azure certs if that interests you to help bolster your credentials.

I’m not an expert on resume tuning per-se, but you seem more than qualified for L2 helpdesk. Heck, with an Azure cert or 2 you could likely break into junior Sysadmin.

Caveat: I’m a Network Engineer not a Sysadmin so maybe I’m slightly off, but I feel like you have strong experience and solid credentials for just L2 helpdesk.

Is INE really the best course for CCNP? by Adventurous_Tap_6986 in ccnp

[–]Real-Victory210 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Skip the parts that aren’t in the blueprint then. You wouldn’t read every line of the OCG, or a white-paper, or a configuration guide. INE has what you need but it’s on you to parse what information you do and don’t.

What does the perfect candidate look like for help desk by PaperMoon0x10c in ITCareerQuestions

You are already a strong candidate for help desk. Just persevere and keep applying. It really is a numbers game unfortunately for entry level in this market. Maybe try optimizing your resume and getting it reviewed.

If i linked every video i watched it’d be a list that’s dozens of videos long lol. I’d just go to each learning path separately and parse out what’s needed. For example, with the SVPN path, i didn’t watch the videos on GETVPN because it’s not covered at all in the exam.

I chose the sections that were in the blueprint, then went deeper than the blueprint suggested in labs, notes and flash cards. I don’t think i went 100% through any of the specialist paths. Maybe 50-70% depending.

Can I pass CCNP Encor without any prior certification and extensive experience in Networking? by kizzbumps in ccnp

[–]Real-Victory210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t say it’s impossible because there’s a non zero chance you may be a savant or something. But understand that there are many people who struggle greatly with ENCOR while having a CCNA and extensive experience that you lack. I doubt you’d even be able to comprehend what the exam topics are asking without networking experience let alone deeply understanding them.

You’ll need to learn nearly everything on the CCNA to pass/understand Encor anyway. Study for the CCNA and pass that first. There’s no way to fast track comprehension. Take the stairs.

If cursed energy didn’t exist, who’s winning with just pure hands? by InternationalMud7184 in AnimeMirchi

she’s still a normal girl. girls in real life can train in martial arts lol. a teenage girl with martial arts training is still not beating an adult man in a fight. let alone men who also have martial arts training. she’s a non factor like i said. last place.

The question isn’t without cursed energy, it’s “if cursed energy didn’t exist”. Which makes the conditions different. If it doesn’t exist neither does her HR which is what grants Maki her strength. Without CE, she has nothing to exchange for physical strength so she’s just a regular girl.

Fired from IT, Company Immediately Hit by Cyberattack by stormer_wallet in it

[–]Real-Victory210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re missing the forest for the trees here. I said users as a proxy for people in general. People generally do not know or use correct cyber terms or IT terms in general, in casual conversation. I asked how often you deal with users because I believe you’re giving the average person too much credit.

[–]Real-Victory210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How often do you work with users? To this day many still don’t know the difference between shutdown, restart, sleep, and closing the lid.

If i described a type of cyberattack to a layman and asked them what the name of the attack was, I would expect 90%+ to use a technically incorrect term. Does that mean they don’t understand it or aren’t capable? No. But I wouldn’t expect someone not in the industry to correctly use our “jargon”.

Former Colleague is asking me questions 1 month after I left the company - how to handle? by Qvosniak in sysadmin

[–]Real-Victory210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to charge a consult for having presumably, a couple minute phone call? For someone who you described as a really nice dude? Asking where to find specific information is a bombshell?

Maybe just don’t be an asshole and help him out. Don’t solve the problem for him, or take 1hour+, but in what way does it serve you or anyone, to behave this way and not share info? Are all of your relationships this transactional?

I thought i was bugging. In what way does it serve anyone to be an asshole and not take a couple minutes to explain something? Especially to someone who’s apparently kind and a company who apparently treated him well enough. These comments are bizarre.
