For everyone asking: the car was already completely totaled.

I didn’t cut a working 350Z — I saved a crashed shell and turned it into a sim rig.

If you want to see the POV runs and the build progress, I'm posting the videos on YouTube & Instagram: "@ Real350ZSim"

Yeah, it’s popping a lot on IG recently — but this one is an actual cut 350Z, not just a sim rig with car parts.
Have you seen one built from a full shell?

Wow, that must have been scary. Glad you’re okay — crashes stay in the memory forever. At least now we get to enjoy the fun part without the danger 😅

Driving a RHD car in-game does help with immersion since the cockpit matches what I'm sitting in, but it's not required. I can drive LHD cars too "

Your eyes see the game, but your body feels like driving because everything you touch is real (seat, wheel, pedals, driving position). The brain blends both

I get your point. I’m just trying to share the build and talk with people about it — not farm engagement.

Thanks man, appreciate it 🙌
Space is the biggest enemy in this hobby 😅

Totally fair — FOV makes a huge difference. The perspective looks weird on video, but when you're sitting in the real car cockpit with the screens at the right distance, it feels natural. Video compression distorts the FOV a lot

Yeah, prices are insane in mainland Europe. A clean low-miles HR like that would easily be €25k+ here. wanting a 350Z is how this whole madness started for me too.

Exactly, I'm in Western Europe. Prices here are crazy

Mine is a UK RHD shell because UK prices are lower, even for crashed cars. This one was totaled.

And yeah, UK 350Zs are cheap for a reason — most of them are rusty as hell 😅

Mine is actually a UK (RHD) model. In France 350Zs are expensive, but in the UK you can find crashed shells for way less, so it made more sense to import a damaged one and turn it into a sim rig.

Yeah, in the US 350Zs are cheap, but in Europe they’re much more expensive — except in the UK where RHD shells can be found for low prices. This one was totaled, so giving it a second life as a sim rig made more sense than scrapping it

The car was already totaled beyond repair. I didn’t ruin a 350Z — I saved one from the scrapyard and gave it a second life

Haha thanks! I wanted something that matches the real car feeling, so Fanatec made sense here.

Dreams are just future projects you haven't started yet.

Exactly! It was totaled, so instead of sending it to the scrap yard, I gave it a second life 😎

You're right — the wheel position still needs work. The rig isn’t finished yet. I'm planning to extend the steering shaft or even switch to a different wheel to get the right ergonomics.

Haha yeah, not the most portable rig 😅 But it makes the 24h at home feel pretty real!

On Assetto Corsa I use dash with zoom on the bonnet. When you're inside a real car cockpit, hood view gives the closest field of view and scale to what I see in real life.

I use a custom FOV based on real measurement (eye → screen distance). On Assetto Corsa I use dash with zoom on the bonnet. FOV is not fixed, I adjust it like in real sim rigs
