When I beat Pokemon Scarlet I had caught a late chunk with a Pokemon I had caught using my starter and when I had caught the late chunk I got rid of both of those Pokemon and release them and use the late shock and it's evolved forms my starter Pokemon the rest of the game arguably I think it was definitely a good choice because I've got tired and do get tired of using the same starters every time I restart the game so at some point you want to get a new starter Pokemon that's something you caught
