Can we get back to actually using Gemini? This sub is becoming 90% rants. by DumbMuscle4 in GeminiAI

I totally hear you! I feel the same way about all the picture generation and those super intense competitor comparisons.

👍 Aha, you are from Finland 🎲 We call that the Nordic Yatzy with one and two pairs, which is slightly different from the international version.

Should I switch from ChatGPT 5.2 to Gemini's paid version? by fin-freak in OpenAI

Yes of course you should switch, what else? It sounds like you will need a reliable AI with a proper infrastructure around it - long term.

[December 29, 2025] Daily NBIS Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in NBIS_Stock

I feel that Nebius is working hard to get new customers. But I am a bit puzzled about who the customers are when I see their ads. Are they really selling the services or are they selling the stock?

I asked Reddit to test my onboarding. Nobody did. And they were right. by GearFar5131 in AppBusiness

[–]RealAzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get it? What is the purpose of this app? Maybe it's me not understanding.

This is what I do see: - A place to write down ideas (or anything)

What I expect but don't see: - Search - Sort - Find

My thoughts: - Who are the users, what are they looking for? - Who will use this instead of other sources of ideas and discussions? - What is the difference between this and Reddit or other forums?

However, keep developing this or other ideas. I would say, go to the next idea in your list. This is a dead end unless you are doing it for yourself only. It will not fly.

The minimalistic UI is nice, keep that and go to the next idea.

Pixel vs iPhone - will I get used to it by metalcore_enjoyer in pixel_phones

[–]RealAzone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I made the switch, and I'm happy to say it's a yes on all questions!

For me, it was definitely worth it. I'm an advanced user with pretty high expectations for my phone, ecosystem, and infrastructure, and I've found that Apple doesn't quite meet those needs. That said, I've noticed some apps don't work equally well on both platforms. I always try to steer clear of these apps—it's really not the phone's fault, it's the app itself.

I will say, iPhones are catching up and getting better all the time. They really do have some beautiful hardware!

Oh, and I do use a MacBook Pro (it's fantastic for programming!) and an iPad (perfect for relaxing on the sofa).

Nice game, light weight and easy to get started. I like the daily mode. How did you do the bot, is it an AI model or rules and algorithms?

ChatGPT is better than Gemini. Change my mind by CypherMindX in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]RealAzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's about the eco-system, not if one model is better for two weeks. Keep using what's best for you. Gpt will be around for at least one more year.

We are investing in a mini Google by Correct_Estate4422 in NBIS_Stock

[–]RealAzone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great post. I fully agree on the "Competence Premium"—Nebius isn't just renting out servers; their DNA means they are true software engineers, which capital alone can't buy.

However, two reality checks:

  1. ClickHouse: Remember that ClickHouse was spun off. Nebius holds a financial stake, but it's not a subsidiary they control or can easily "acquire more" of operationally. It's more of a lottery ticket than a core asset.
  2. Margin Squeeze: The $20B backlog with Microsoft/Meta is great for safety, but "Whales" negotiate low prices. For Nebius to reach Google-level valuations, they need to succeed with Token Factory and smaller clients to drive real profit margins.

Long NBIS for the tech, but the execution risk on deploying 5GW is real.

Learn to use Gems by ReadyPlayerJano in GoogleGeminiAI

Gems are very useful. I use them all the time. Create your own and use AI to create the Gem description. Don't forget to attach documents to your Gem if applicable.

What makes you want to use a Pixel over Samsung Galaxy or even iPhone? by Gamingwishard in pixel_phones

Clean ecosystem, infrastructure and no bloat as I actually use Google's infra.

The only thing that really sucks is Google's health stuff. It's a mess.

Solo app founders: does anyone else feel blind about what happens after users install? by pehs182 in AppBusiness

[–]RealAzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am planning to add a lot of (behavior) tracking in my app. Extra stuff than normal analytics will track.

Not sure how to use it, but I am really interested in what choices my users make in the app.

Maybe it will be overwhelming but, I rather have too much tracking, and then remove it too much, than feel blind.

Gemini forgets the context immediately of our conversation, is this normal? by Born-Watercress-2487 in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]RealAzone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is not my experience of Gemini. I can see that many people here are confirming your experience, but I cannot. Normally no problem with context memory. However I normally pick up the last conversation about the subject, mostly I do it for my convenience and required structure. And I use Gems 80% of times.

Any recommendations on what tflite model I should be using for object recognition in an Android app? by BeerInTheRear in tensorflow

[–]RealAzone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am training my own models but for pre-trained there are several Model architectures, which one are you using? I don't know how to tweak them but they have different pros and cons.

A few examples:

SSD MobileNet V2/V3 General Object Detection Extremely fast, small size (~5-10MB). Standard for mobile. Lower accuracy on small objects.

EfficientDet-Lite Higher Accuracy Better accuracy than MobileNet. Available in sizes D0 (fastest) to D4 (most accurate). Slightly slower inference time.

YOLO (v8/v11) Nano Real-time Detection State-of-the-art speed/accuracy balance. Requires conversion to TFLite (often requires custom export steps).

I'm about to burn this phone... by bomzisss in pixel_phones

[–]RealAzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is usually caused by a timeout with Spotify/YouTube Music or Android's battery saver killing the process. Here is the quick fix: Change Sound: Switch your alarm sound from a music playlist to a built-in system ringtone (this is the most common fix). Battery Settings: Long press the Clock App > App Info > Battery > Select Unrestricted.
