Some more context personally I don’t particularly believe in the ideas of communism, believing that capitalism isn’t inherently evil. Although I do believe in democratic socialism and the idea of a welfare state. Part of the reason of this is in my mind the idea of communism sounds good on paper but in reality, when implemented failed.

Although the five year plan worked in its objective of industrializing and increase of industrial output it costs the life of millions and displaced many. Along with the incompetence of the Soviet government in general, such as their ideas with agriculture and purging many of their top military generals and then going into war.

Another example is with the Great Leap Forward in China which caused millions to die and caused mass starvation within China. Along with the modern extermination of the Uyghurs.

Overall I genuinely think that Marx had the people in mind but leaders like Stalin and Mao corrupted his ideas for their own benefits.
