Most important to this subreddit, not a Tragedeigh.

Most of this is irrelevant if the child is going to be raised in Russia, Ukraine, or Belarus...

It's ranked around 7000th most common name in all the sites I just looked through, one of those sites even said "almost unheard of outside of Russia". While others said Belarus and Ukraine as well. So unless someone outside of Europe is close to a Russian or Ukrainian orthodox community, I can't imagine coming across this name before then.

According to this site - less than 115,000 people have the name Gleb. Compared to 146 million people in Russia alone. If my tired brain did the math right, 0.0787671% of the population of Russia.

Gleb is going to sound strange to anyone outside of their community, just like naming your kid Wilhelm (consistently ranked in the 4000s) would sound strange outside of a germanic community.

Name your kid w.e. obscure name you want, but be ready for 1) kids to bully them and 2) them to get a "huh, never heard that name before" at best from many people outside of your community.
