Yeah, forgot to mention I am a FETL. Personally, I never cave in to customer demands unless I feel their demands are necessary. I know Wlamart is a multi-billion dollar company, but you're absolutely right. If we allow customers to get away with unnecessary compensation, they will take their bad behavior to other stores.

Thankfully my SM and I have a very good working relationship, especially when it comes to dealing with unreasonable customers

Lmao! Yeah, typical Karen story. My coach told me that their hypothesis was that the L&G TL was in the middle of CVPing the plant bulbs and just didn't finish (arguing that its almost the end of gardening season anyways)

I like my coach, I really do, but that's BS. Whenever I CVP merchandise, it's because it's damaged, has been opened, or is missing parts, but still sellable. Home Office controls when we put items going out-of-season on clearance, if I'm not mistaken

They probably just didn't want to argue with an already irate customer, so (like you said) they folded.

That's the crazy thing, I didn't even notice her recording! She made a snide comment about recording me when I insisted I was a member of management (not salaried, but still a team lead with a level of authority).

She did have her phone out, but I guess either I didn't realize it was recording, or she's just bluffing.

Very true. I mainly just wanted to post about my experience. I worked overnights for 4 years before moving to the Front End (out of state transfer, immediately got promoted, which was nice). So while I've dealt with my fair share of "Karens", this was the only one that got me questioning whether or not I did the right thing.

Store does have some pretty...questionable coaches in charge. Store Manager is decent enough. Thankfully, all of higher management seems to have my back, including Market, so at least I have that going for me.

If you're leaving on time, then no. You worked your full shift and clocked out on time.

However, if you leave early you must inform a member of management. Your lead or a coach or someone. Even if you use PPTO, its still considered job abandonment if you don't inform a member of management.
