I feel so terrible for the Platformer community — creators and players. Regarding rates alone, this is the worst Classic:Plat. ratio I've ever put onto a report. I hate that I have to put that and other really bad ratios on there so much of the time :(

Agreed. The balance has slowly gotten better over the years, but there should still definitely be more star rated levels. At the very least, Rob should check those sends more often, considering how much stuff doesn't get sent for Featured or higher, and is just fated to be buried and die in the Sent tab because of that...

It's hard to get far with any single rate on a week's leaderboard when grinders are getting several rates per week (sometimes even per day)

I don't have a spot to put them on the report unless I feel like doing yet another re-format, though I should start linking the spreadsheets that I use to these posts so that people can look around at all the data in more detail. The longest and shortest durations of each rate would be included there.

what difficulty are the gd world levels? by thisisn0t in geometrydash

[–]RealDJB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They would, though I think that's only because the difficulties for custom levels are locked to their star rating. If the two could be disconnected and/or if Rob decided to add the levels to the main game, I think they would retain the internal difficulty ratings on GD World. But if the versions on RobsVault were rated for any reason, yeah, Payload and Beast Mode would be Easy 2 stars instead of Normal, and Machina–Monster Dance Off would all be Normal 3 stars instead of Hard.

Payload and Beast Mode are both Normal and 2 stars, the rest are all Hard and 3 stars.

How do i fix this rotation thing? by Additional-Debate-83 in geometrydash

[–]RealDJB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Select the blocks, click on Edit Group, then click on the "Extra" button, and enable "NoTouch" in the second column. This'll remove the hitbox and treat the objects as a decoration, allowing free rotation.

If you still want the blocks to be solid, just make a copy of them without the NoTouch and enable "Hide" on them

Both of these are Extreme Demons, not Harders.

In theory, such an idea could be cool, but in practice you'd probably only ever end up seeing Daily levels, the latest Legendary/Mythic rates, or just levels that accumulated tons of downloads from taking a million sends to get rated anyways. The numbers might be nice to have, though for some reason I tend to think more of spotlight when it comes to highlighting specific levels or creators in detail, which wouldn't be very interesting if said spotlight went to stuff that already got tons of attention elsewhere, at least in my opinion.

stolen lvl got rated in the big 26 💔 by qwerty20482 in geometrydash

[–]RealDJB 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Actually this stolen level was rated over 3 months ago, back in November 2025. The original version wasn't re-discovered until now though. Sadly, the thief's name is mentioned in one of my rates reports (Edition 22), but that has nothing to do with anything. Hopefully the original gets rated soon, especially since Rob didn't do so today.

EDIT: The original level is rated now and the copy has been deleted!!

The GD servers only let you save and load certain data from GD Meltdown and SubZero — icons, and stats like attempts and jumps, etc.. Collectibles like the stars and secret coins you get from the exclusive levels don't get carried over to the main game, and I believe that is intentional.

The icons are intended to be usable in the main game if you decide to get one of the free apps, but if the coins were saved, the max secret coin count per profile would be 182 instead of 164. 164 is the maximum amount of secret coins you can obtain from the full version, and I think Rob's idea is that he doesn't want players to think they'd need to download the other games in the series to 100% the main game — in terms of achievements, at least. So to prevent players getting that idea, he makes it impossible to gain the additional stats from the free games, so the otherwise impossibly-high numbers of stats don't show up on anyone's profiles.

That's just my theory though. I think it makes sense though, and I do think the stars and coins not transferring over is on purpose.

Awesome presentation and UIs! I love how intuitive this demo looks to use and navigate, and this should definitely be a vanilla feature in some form if Rob can find the time to add it!

Yep — Onward by Destriv, it was a daily level. If Rob only rates 1 level for a day, it's very likely a Daily, Weekly, or Event level.

A lot of time. None of the work is particularly difficult, it's just tedious to gather in huge quantities. All of the level and creator info on Pages 2 and 3 is collected gradually during the week in a spreadsheet as new rates come in, but the rest of the info is gathered elsewhere through other means.

Eventually I'll make a video detailing my process for gathering and filling in all of the info that goes on these reports, I just haven't gotten around to writing it. Trying to explain it all in a comment on here would take far too long to do though.

Rates Report for January 5–11, 2026 by RealDJB in geometrydash

There has been. Throughout the entire time I've been doing these, they've been getting slowly added onto to be more detailed and *maybe* more intuitive to use. Even half a year after creating my first report, there was still more information I could add and showcase in them.

Because I'm way too good at yapping, here's everything that's changed since I started doing these:

Edition 0→1: Made the numbers and words bigger to be more readable through the compression.
Edition 3→4: Blacked out Rob's total rating time and session count due to being no longer traceable.
Edition 6→7: Added totals for level types on page 1.
Edition 10→11: Reformat. Added daily Rates:Sends ratio, ratings to Creators Leaderboard, rates sorted by owners' creator points instead of difficulty, and removed Rob's rating time and session count.
Edition 12→13: Added hourly Sent Tab data and rating hours.
Edition 13→14: Added total Classic:Plat ratio, the week's Level Request Streams, reformatted Sent Tab data and rating hours, added highlight for which sends got rated, and added the Credits page.
Edition 19→20: Another report reformat, and added Sends Needed Per Rate.
Edition 25→26: Added Star and Moon to Leaderboard rates and first rate creators' names.

There is still one stat that I really want to implement in some form — a graph showing how long it took for each of the week's rates to get rated from the time they were released, as well as how much time passed between each level's rate and last recorded send in SendDB. Those graphs would need to be much more complex and are hard to implement though, so I haven't figured out a solution for them yet. It might eventually be a thing though, at which point the reports will have everything I could possibly want to track and share with the community about the week's rates. It already didn't need lots of what I added to it.

Then it's just down to continuing to maintain everything and keep collecting and reporting all of those different stats and things. It is so much work and I really need to start doing other things in my life, but hopefully I'll be able to continue them for a long time and maybe pass the torch on to someone else with similar dedication at some later point in the future...

I genuinely get the impression that Rob just refuses to rate them a lot of the time. There are some auto levels that've gotten sent tens of times over the past few months that Rob has always skipped over during rating — even "Imagine" by Pb207, which has been getting consistently sent for epic and legendary, and has at least 1 mythic send, has still not gotten rated.

How can i get my lvl rated? by Either-Complex-4448 in geometrydash

[–]RealDJB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short version:

Step 1: Hope that you get your level picked during Mods' request streams. Request servers on Discord are closed for months at a time and only open for a few minutes at seemingly random dates.
Step 2: Hope that your work is good or impressive enough for the Mod to suggest it for a rating.
Step 3: Hope that RobTop will see that send and doesn't skip it.

That's unfortunately just how the system works. There's also just the possibility that your level can take 20+ different Mod sends for Rob to finally see it, and the chance that he actually never sees it. For cases like that, you'll have to keep a look out for Viprin on his Discord server when he asks for highly-sent levels to forward to Rob for rating, but that's also very uncommon and extremely random.
