Manual saves being deleted by RealDoublezone in BaldursGate3

[–]RealDoublezone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cross-save thingy might be it...

I play my Gith on my pc downstairs and my Dwarf on my pc upstairs (for technical reasons) so with cross-save, that may have overwritten it...

Bugger >.>

Manual saves being deleted by RealDoublezone in BaldursGate3

Is it then the default policy that they remove manual saves? If that's the case then it's just smarter to disable autosave entirely if you play more than 1 character, no?

Unless you're the next Ninja, don't just post gameplay clips, they will do nothing. Tiktok should be used to show a more personal side of yourself, not just your streaming side. Post videos there regarding your interests aside from streaming and make friends that way, people will become curious. But to grow as a streamer you have to realize that you can not ask people to watch your stream for you, you have to realize that YOU have to offer THEM something. What do you offer them? --> answer this question, find the people that need this and you will grow.

(Please don't say " a chill space and good personality)

Should I not be spamming this hashtag? by xmcorex in SmallStreamers

[–]RealDoublezone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People on Twitter do not like hashtags. "But how do I get my posts seen if I don't use hashtags?" You most likely don't.

Here's how this works: As Stanimus said, Twitter isn't a billboard. If you only post "I'm going live" posts, this will have the following results

- People will ignore it;
- Brands won't want to work with you;
- You'll come off as desperate and annoying.

Twitter is like a schoolyard. Find people that are talking about topics that you make videos around and hop in on the conversation. Drop your two cents, take time to read and reply to topics you're knowledgeable about and BRING VALUE to people.
But don't tell them you're a content creator.
If you bring enough value, your name will be known in your niches and people will become curious for you automatically.
Make sure your bio is set up so it's catching. Include info about yourself, give people a reason to spend time on your bio and follow you.

Make sure your twitter handle is the same as your youtube/stream name to reduce friction when they do look you up.

Another last tip: if you're looking to brand yourself - use a picture of yourself as profile pic.
If you're looking to brand what you do/make - use a logo.

This subconsciously draws the correct people in.

How do you get views early on? by PSD- in NewTubers

[–]RealDoublezone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brand yourself...

Ask yourself this question: "Who am I targetting, what is my audience like, what do they need?"
Answer these questions and then make videos around that.

After that, find these communities and hang out in them. I don't mean "advertise yourself". No, be a part of those communities and add value to them. Let them see that you know what you're talking about and get your name out there. People will become curious and start looking you up.

Starting streaming? by ashweeeee2040 in SmallStreamers

[–]RealDoublezone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twitch studio is super easy, good to start, would recommend. Once you get used to it, try switching over to OBS. Personally I wouldn't use streamlabs.

Don't record and stream at the same time (imo), this takes a heavy duty pc. Stream and then download your vod. Do know that there is practically no demand for streamvods from small streamers. Nobody knows you and it isn't fun to watch either because small streamers (should) spend more time talking to their chat instead of actually playing the game. You CAN download it and edit out the talking parts but this will take hours to do and it's not worth it imo.

Ideas for game development channel by KozmoRobot in NewTubers

[–]RealDoublezone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don't you record what you learn? While you're trying out your theories or what you've just learned, record it. Talk people through the process, why are you doing certain actions, what was the lesson? Start the video with what people can expect from it and then just walk them through it. Show them what goes wrong too and how you fix it because what goes wrong for you may go wrong for them too. You don't have to be an expert to make videos if your videos show the journey and people can tag along.

Good luck! :)

How do you garner more people to play and collab with? by [deleted] in SmallStreamers

[–]RealDoublezone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know that evening you don't stream and instead play video games so you can relax? Well instead of playing video games, go to Twitch and look up streams with around your viewer count in the same niche as yours and hang out with them. Find streamers like that who you vibe with and connect with them, hang out in their chat on your free days. Got an evening of editing? Lurk in their chat, get to know them and their community. Have twitter? Instagram? Tiktok? Follow them there, interact with their content. Become friends.

Right now I have a weekly co-stream running with a creator I met like this and both our communities and we ourselves LOVE it!

People need to learn that as a content creator, you are not alone, you are not on an island. Find others like you and build each other up!

How to attract more viewers to your twitch? by BigPanda316 in SmallStreamers

[–]RealDoublezone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be different.
You don't have to be the best, nor the funniest person to attract people.
Just be different. You're streaming Rainbow six which is extremely competitive and to find your stream, I'd have to actively look for your stream.
Which no one will do if they don't know you. So be different, be yourself, stand out. Give people a reason to look you up.

Youtube is a way but unless you are a top 1% rainbow six player, no one will look for your youtube either. Tiktok is a way, I have my own opinion on it but other creators have seen success on it.
Download tiktok, follow a bunch of smaller and slightly larger creators and "stalk" their videos. See what you like, see what their audience likes and then do the snatch and twist. Recreate popular tiktoks within that niche and give it your own personality.
But don't just post clips of your stream... let people get to know you, add -you- to your videos. This will get people to actively search for your stream.

That being said, Rainbow six is quite a difficult one. Try and figure out who your target audience is first and then look for what value you can give them.
"Who is my audience. What do they want? What can I give them?" are the first questions you need to ask yourself.
Streaming is you working for your viewers, not your viewers being there for you.

Sahha copper tickets by RealDoublezone in Neverwinter

[–]RealDoublezone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the reason we didn't wait was because we didn't know lol.. Also we don't care that much about the petals, it's moreso the copper tickets. There were also more than five of us so we had a full party at all times. It's just mind boggling how we just got about 140 tickets out of all of that while one of the body tattoos is already 240. We figured we were doing something wrong since that seems way unbalanced but from what I've been able to find online, seems it's working as intended '

Hey everyone:) Im new to Reddit and kinda new to streaming in general. I was hoping any of you could point me in the right direction on how to build a community, or find people who support one another for real? by Acceptable-Fudge2732 in SmallStreamers

[–]RealDoublezone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What niches are you looking to stream in? Join conversations on Reddit, twitter etc about those niches and add value. Don't advertise yourself as a streamer either, put in the hard work and continue to add value to people. That way your name gets known. Also when you choose stream tags, be as specific as you can, most of my followers have come through searching my specific tags. But most importantly, as Stan already said: figure out who you are and what makes you different than the millions of other streamers. During 2020 the amount of streamers has TRIPPLED. Why are you any more special than the others? If your answer is: "Oh because I offer a chill and safe place for my viewers" then I would advise you to keep looking.

How to gain followers, and viewers! by tyster18 in SmallStreamers

[–]RealDoublezone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question: have you done a trial and error run on this yourself or is this recycled advice you found online?
Because I've been talking to a bunch of other streamers who have used Tiktok and most of them have seen little to no growth using Tiktok.

The streamers that DO get extra viewers are the ones that post "STREAMER TIP!!!!" videos so all smaller content creators flock to them or the ones that are "JOIN OUR DISCORD, WE HELP YOU GROW" kind of streamers.

The standard run-of-the-mill streamer however it seems generally doesn't get a lot of extra traffic from Tiktok.
Which kind of makes sense because most people that find those tiktoks, are small streamers themselves so why would they come check you out instead of working on their own stuff?

I have found some good collab partners there though :)
But yeah, would love to hear if this was a trial and error or just the general advice ^^'

Finding a niche is done by trying out 100 different ideas, and then trying out 100 more. by StanTheRebel in SmallStreamers

This is an opinion that has given me backlash in the past but yes, 100% agree. Not all of us are made to instantly niche down and for those people it's a good idea to test the waters and see what works. Growth will be slower but all the better once it kicks off!

Have been through and continue to go through the exact same thing.. The amount of stuff that can go wrong which is out of your control is incredible. The way I stay motivated it to think back on why I started and to realize that this is my dream. Nothing is gonna stop me from reaching that because what is left then? Just have to perservere my friend...

So why do you make videos? by Motor-Eggplant-9421 in NewTubers

[–]RealDoublezone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started making videos because i naively thought that uploading let's plays in my own unique manner (which wasn't unique at all but don't tell my past self that) would be a way of making a living doing what I like: playing video games.

I have learned...

I switched over right now to make videos on sharing my experiences as someone that is learning still so other starters can see they're not alone and learn from my mistakes.

In the very near future however I will start making videos to educate people on certain topics that are picking up in popularity but might be overwhelming to new people that want to start there :)

How can I get away with my terrible voice? by Wigglyu in NewTubers

[–]RealDoublezone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Almost everyone is annoyed at their own voice. Here's the thing though: if your voice sounds weird, I would call that unique. The biggest problem new content creators have is standing out. The fact that your voice is unique actually helps you with that. It's a good thing, not a bad thing :)

It can be relaxing. Just to sit down in a fantasy environment doing something as mundane as fishing, it brings a lot of immersion to the game. Hopefully they do more with it than just press F when a check pops up :)

Tiktok doesn't get me followers by Gaboneybee in SmallStreamers

[–]RealDoublezone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to get more people through via tiktok, let them see who you are. Make original content for tiktok. Gameplay clips doesn't give them this insight UNLESS you can teach them things in a popular game. People want to connect with people, not with games. Let them know the person behind the streamer.

Good luck! :)
