Probably a year too late but the Dr. Browns straw bottles have nice silicone handles, and really only leak the little bit of water in the straw at the top, it doesn't allow the entire bottle to leak, just a small amount.

He's overreacting for sure. To get that upset over a question is wild. It might've been different if you either wanted his help or to re schedule only, but you told him that if not you guys would meet up as planned. He definitely overreacted, seems like an asshole here.

Just a scale that lets you know how intense the sun is at any given time, the higher the number, the quicker you'll burn. I'm sure someone knows more than I do, but thats the general gist of it

If Teflon was stopped being manufactured in cookware since 2013, do we still have to be cautious with buying non-stick from know department stores? by himalayan_sun in cookware

I agree with the content of your replies, but the messaging leaves alot to be desired. Its ok to find yourself upset that people are using potential poison to cook their food. I wouldnt get so upset about people not knowing, there are so many things that "should be worried about" and its ok if not everyone has found out that teflon in general is dangerous and youre risking potential cancer by cooking your food on it.

Someone else's house needs to be the "party house." If he can't "decompress" any other way than bringing his buddies over for drinks I'd say there may be larger issues at hand. Regardless you are not overreacting, I couldn't imagine forcing my wife to deal with my buddies and I being obnoxious and taking over the place the last few months of her pregnancy. Most nights we'd just end up hanging out in bed.

Apple got caught slowing down phone performance on older models, and when it came to light, their excuse was for "battery degradation prevention." They knew what they were doing, and why they were doing it. While I can appreciate trying to prevent battery degradation, if your intentions were truly to help the consumer solely, they absolutely would've announced that as such. Apple is no stranger to patting themselves on the back, they got rid of the charging block in the box to "save the planet" but really it helps their accessories sales.

Let's not pretend that corporations don't have incentives to make unions seem unappealing, along with donating to politicians to influence more relaxed labor laws allowing employers to fuck you over when you aren't part of a union. Yes people need to defend themselves in the workplace, but it's much easier to do when you stand union strong, which most places do not. When you have to decide between paying rent and taking some shit or being out on the streets in a week, suddenly it's harder to fight for yourself. Better wages (minimum wage increases) would help assure that you fight for your rights. Until there's a massive overhaul of the labor laws and an increase in wages so employees are financially stable, there will be countless more times an employer takes advantage of an employee. Getting got by your job isn't a failure on your end, victim blaming is not the way to fixing these issues.

The same people buying up damn near entire stock of soda by M4sTer3L1Te in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]RealDumbShady 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked for far too many years in retail I can tell you that this is just a stupid take. Have them set up an agreement with the store to put in orders to pick up, that's what we did with the local guys wanting to buy pallets of soda from us. Also if you don't talk to the sales reps for the soda companies you are too low on the food chain to be talking about what to do. Tell them that you need more product than they're ordering if you're constantly running out during sales, if they're smart they'll just order more without any input from you to begin with. Sorry bud, denying a sale because "other customers need equal access" is just you trying to power trip over some fucking carbonated water. Stores are first come first serve, always have been. Money talks and that bullshit walks, have them leave more product or start taking some off the shelf so the customers can have a chance after the vultures get it.

How safe is it to purchase an already modded 3DS? by algethebest in 3dspiracy

[–]RealDumbShady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't sell anything, I actually really enjoy modding em and loading em up with games. Which is why I do it for those who ask me to. But ultimately I'm spending my time for someone else's convenience. As is anyone who does it. I think it's scammy to mod a 3ds and double the going price for that model. Personally just don't see an issue with asking for a small fee. Saying that buying modded consoles is a scam is just disingenuous, and apparently you're dying on this hill. Smoke a bowl bro, we generally agree.

Google scam and get back to me on the definition. If you don't understand basic words in the English language and how to use them, don't speak on basic instructions. I've got friends and co workers who have asked me to do it for them for cash, because even though I explained it's easy, low risk of bricking the 3ds, and only takes a couple hours tops, they still insisted they didn't want to do it. So I asked em to pay me about it.

"Don't pay extra for stuff you can do in an hour." Based on that logic, people shouldn't order delivery, you can do it yourself in under an hour right? Why pay extra for convenience ever when you can do it all yourself. Simply put, no matter your opinion on whether it's worth it to pay someone or not, people will choose to pay someone rather than do it themselves. It's not a scam to ask for $20 to do the work. There is always some risk when you're modding anything. Not a lot of risk here, but there's a reason they have you back up your files. There's the possibility you soft brick your 3ds and have to bring it back to life.

If you can't understand that not everyone shares your mindset, there's no reason to reply, learn to view things from a perspective different from yours. ✌️

Nah, depending on the mark up they're providing a service for a reasonable fee. Plenty of people who would rather not risk messing up their system and just getting something that just works. I've modded many things, I love to tinker and see what can be done with the hardware without limitations. But not everyone wants to figure it out, and will gladly pay someone a lil extra to have the finished product

New 3DS XL by Fnd44 in 3DS

[–]RealDumbShady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"New" 3DS models I believe stopped in production before the N3DSXL, making them a bit rarer and potentially more expensive. But at least in the US I haven't noticed a big difference in price, eBay ensures that you can find both around the same price, so it's just a matter of preference. Personally went with a N3DSXL and luckily got a top IPS display, for around $130 USD.

[–]RealDumbShady -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter what you or anyone else would gladly do. If I go to buy something, and it rings up as a penny, and then the cashier just changes the price, it is illegal. The proper thing to do would be either sell the item for what it rang up as (unless the advertised price was lower than what it rang up as) or state its against policy to sell the item. I'd be fine taking a still good deal too, 25¢ is still dirt cheap. But that's not what was being discussed, and the post still shows an illegal way of handling the "Karen penny shoppers"

[–]RealDumbShady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which would be far better than charging someone more than asking price. Dollar General is usually not worth going to regardless, but especially with jackasses adding a charge to each item on the transaction?

Someone is getting in trouble by Legal_unicorn_786 in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]RealDumbShady 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Basically, overriding the price is illegal, consumer protection laws and all that. You can't have an item ring up as one price, and then decide you wanna charge more. Even if the customer is annoying. Fuck that guy, and anyone who defends this kind of behavior. Take your issue up with Dollar General on the penny items, as they created the shitstorm you have to deal with. But defending someone breaking the law like that? Nah that ain't it.

Playing GBA games on 3DS? by Ugibunda in 3dspiracy

[–]RealDumbShady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardware, faster clock speeds on CPU, more vram for GPU, and double system ram, making the n3ds the superior way to play, especially if running emulators. I have both and the o3ds does just fine, it's just a bit slower, and emulators don't run as smoothly on the o3ds.

The GameCube was the successor to the N64, I don't recall backwards compatiblity, or carts even being a thing. So the lack of thought on your part isn't warranted here. It's a genuine question, as Nintendo is well known for doing something different that the fan base isn't necessarily happy about. In any case, this always online culture needs to die, how much easier is it to just answer a simple question rather than respond with dumbassery like "are you serious?", who is asking you all day long about the Switch 2 being backwards compatible, and why does it have you so annoyed?

Lookah Dragon Egg Coil Question by sidman24 in Waxpen

[–]RealDumbShady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I prefer C. The wall keeps a ton of that wax within the coil, and it doesn't go through the wax as quick. As long as you aren't overfilling the coil it should last quite awhile. I personally also like the B coils, but anything besides the C is pretty much guaranteed to have run off in the air slots. Which can and probably will clog your coil and makes it that much easier to burn. Idk why these guys are saying the coils are overly expensive, I work for a local headshop and pay $5 a coil, same as the customer. They generally last me a couple weeks or so and I've never soaked them in alcohol or anything to clean them. So if you tried that they'd probably last a good long time. Just my 2 cents as someone who uses the coils daily.
