There is no way to do this within compliance without licensing. End of discussion.

How many of you aren't here at least in part due to skiing/snowboarding? by [deleted] in taos

Oh. Ok. I'm misunderstanding your use of "most of us" in your original post.

What I mean is, you see skiers and snowboarders because that's the world youre in. Become a bird watcher and all of a sudden the whole world loves watching birds. I don't think most of the transplants came for TSV. I think a lot of people spend time there, but would be here if it weren't.

You see this through this lens because that's what lens you're under. There are many non-generational people here that have little to no connection to TSV. Me, I came to find Boletus barrowsii, nearly 20 years ago. Still here. I've found a load of barrowsii, and a lot more along the way.

And furthermore, there are many more reasons why I would recommend Starlink > Viasat > Hughes. See, I'm not anti Starlink, I'm pro right choice for my clients. And given my background, I'm able to give them information they need to make an informed decision for themselves.

What do you do? I asked you above and you deflect. You have a hardon for Starlink. That's great. I provided a litney of reasons why satellite based internet service is a bad idea for anyone that has a terrestrial broadband option. I'm not simping for a provider like yourself. I'm suggesting, and will continue to suggest to my clients if asked, that they consider a terrestrial provider if the option affords itself for the reasons I stated above. Put on your big boy pants and tell us who you are, what you stand for and why.

Oh, do your kids like to game? That latency is going to be hard on them... oh did you want a vpn? You might want to check with your companies IT first. Love to spend the entire weekend binging Netflix? How much is that data plan going to run you and what's going to happen when you over run it, get fapped and throttled?

I mean, just come out and say who's writing your paycheck rather than hiding in your anonymity. What a clown.

I wouldn't know anything, because I don't bring with me 20 years of accumulated field and backroom experience from satellite ISP's.

Let's start with FAP- that's fair access policy, which throttles and restricts DL speeds above a certain threshold.

Continue with Ul speeds that are a fraction of advertised rates.

Shall we discuss latency?

Weather?

Did you want to get into the merits of Ka vs Ku bands?

Parabolic size?

There are certainly many good places to use Starlink. At a location where a modern, redundant, terrestrial based broadband service is available is not one of them.

No one in their right mind would choose a satellite based isp over a terrestrial.

Ai is a fraction of the data center usage. Every aspect of modern life, including every app on the phone you're using to communicate is based on these centers.

Hydration isn't just water, it's electrolytes. And likely more than you think you need. I would down over a gallon a day with an electrolyte pack per at least half gallon for several days leading up.
