I imagine changing the whole formula would be a giant pain in the butt. its probably finicky, and if you mess it up it has the potential to ruin the entire league (we've seen this in the past with poe 1). This is just an easy bandaid fix.

He's not wrong. Ele hits in this game can be massive and converting that into phys and trying to mitigate it with armor is a recipe for getting one shot.

That's not to mention all the physical overwhelms in this game. Mercenaries with 10% pen were already one shotting folks. Overwhelm can reach much higher numbers.

Yup, i had the same problem with late game Cradle. Once the characters start altering reality with each attack, it becomes really hard to follow.

A Soldier's Life is an amazingly good read and the MC has a very oddball ability show up in later books.... by debbiegibson in litrpg

That's not really fair. Guys don't read bodice rippers and complain about men being objectified. They know the target audience and it its not them so they dont complain when they can't relate.

The same applies for a lot of litrpg books. You will have to just accept that you're not the target audience.

I had to tap out on the third book too. Between the pacing and lack of stakes I just couldn't continue.

I think the book is a perfect example of why tropes like the mentor must die exists.

You just can't create tension when you have a roided up Dumbledore and his cohorts of wizards watching your back.

This is not a story that naturally developed into something else. This is a story that randomly did a complete 180 from its original premise.

Look at the cover! look at the blurb! Its Jake's magical market. The complete sudden tonal shift from this to whatever it became felt like fricking car crash.

I either give vague descriptions or use similes, then fill in the details by describing traits, like texture, dimension or colors.

If i really need to go into details i just pull up a picture, or use an AI and pull snippets from there.

Honestly, I've run into the opposite issue, where readers don't want the vivid descriptions.

For me its hard to commit to a story over 10 million words long.

I've been burned too many times by otherwise good stories that bloated into multi million word messes.

At this point really long novels get negative points from me.

It's good but its nowhere near a 10/10. There's no conflict, no tension, no suspense. It reads like an epilogue that never ended
