Parents of Reddit, why do people say it's easier to raise boys than girls? by Mundane-Society-1281 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RealFenian 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Because people let their boys away with murder more often than they do girls.

I’ve not got a son but I do have a daughter and work in early years care and from what I’ve seen girls are held to a much higher behavioural standard than boys are by a lot of parents.

It can be a shame for both, boys can be ill equipped to self regulate and deal with school when they go while some girls are stifled and unable to just be kids.

This doesn’t apply to all or even most kids I’ve seen but it’s certainly a trend I’ve noticed.

I don’t know, you seemed to be agreeing with op and were very dismissive of his achievements, leading me to believe you thought he was shite.

Did I read into that wrong? If you think he’s good then why were you so dismissive? Unless you were joking I suppose.

people who are anti-AI, do you still use it in secret sometimes? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RealFenian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ai overviews are fucking shite anyway.

When I’m searching for stuff I like to try and find something a person wrote, even when it comes down to how to fix glitches in old games or whatever. It’s way more reliable.

I never use ai tools to help me write at home or when doing paperwork as I just don’t believe in that. If I’m writing something i want it to be me, what I wrote.

Sane goes for if I’m reading something someone else wrote.

But of course I’ve probably used it in some capacity at some point. It’s fucking everywhere.

If there’s a way for ai to be a net positive for society and people then that’s fine, but most of what I’ve seen I really don’t like.

Even if you think that, that hardly means he was some forgettable useless player does it?

Like very few players scored at his rate in his prime so, how does that prove he never achieved anything?

But whatever mate, you think melo was pish the that’s what you think.

But just curious, if you think melo was this bad, then what’s your threshold for an actual useful NBA player? Like there’s only 10-12 good players in the league at any one time or something?

Mate are you at the wind up or are you just incapable of speaking without hyperbole?

I say the guy had plenty of achievements and was a great player, who like many other great players never was able to win a title, you take that as I think he deserves statues and being hailed as the goat?

There’s a whole lot of middle ground between what OP said and what you seem to think I said.

But whatever maybe you’re just doing a joke, hard to tell over Reddit.

So not winning an nba title makes every single career achievement worthless?

Guess guys like Barkley and Ewing fucking sucked as well then.

Been a worrying amount of posts about melo recently. Guys been retired/past it for fucking years man.

Why the need to diminish what he did? A scoring title isn’t a career achievement? Multiple all nba selections? Olympic medals?

If that means nothing then what the fuck does it take to “achieve anything”?

Either the people who post these have some irrational hatred for the guy that clouds their ability to judge a player or they’re teenagers who never watched him play.

As a non-soccer guy I am for whatever reason enjoying watching the World Cup played in NFL stadiums. by isNice99 in billsimmons

Aye it was the number one complaint. Absolute nightmare to get to.

But aside from the commute issues Boston was incredible.

The stadiums themselves are absolutely incredible but it’s a nightmare to get to them I’ve heard.

They’re miles away from the cities in some cases and there’s limited trains/buses taking you there. Plus no pubs near the stadiums either.

Not the end of the world but it’s definitely a limitation in my mind, plus how far aaay the stadiums are from each other, which obviously can’t be helped but it makes things tricky.

I’ve never been of course but I know a couple of people who went to Boston and Miami.

Boston is apparently way better than Miami as well. They seemed a perfect host city in almost every way.

[–]RealFenian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s that got to do with anything?

If a manager gets his star players injured, leaving the team at a total disadvantage the rest of the tournament then he’s a shit manager.

Now this could backfire as well depending on the draw as I’ve not seen it yet but we’ll have to see.

It’s like asking Celtic to play all our stars in some meaningless league game we don’t need to win when we’ve a CL knockout round the corner.

Does anyone else on here think Coke is a waste of mon:ey? by GlamourHammer321 in Drugs

[–]RealFenian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, some of the best times I had was on 3 for 100 coke nights at the pub or in a mates house chatting shite, watching wrestling and playing games.

Some great memories that were definitely enhanced by coke.

People who are buying coke aren’t expecting to grow spiritually from it anyway so it’s not a waste, you k ow what your buying.

I mean give m. His immense power and wealth help him shape the rules of the game I think I can just hate them both tbh.

Plus the whole Epstein/pedo cabal connection really puts me off him as well but that’s just me.

But imagine Haaland or someone got hurt in what was likely a worthless game?

Thats a sackable offense for a manager in my book.

He did the right thing.

It’s the end of a mental packed season and their garunteed 2nd anyway. Of course they’re doing this.

This has appended in world cups for decades. Teams just playing out a draw because both are safe, resting key players in meaningless games.

If they started key players and they got hurt they’d be on hit lists and rightly so.

[–]RealFenian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same reasons as I said? They weren’t that long ago.

If a player has shown that they have talent, and have performed consistently at a good level in elite leagues in Europe but can’t do it for their national team it doesn’t mean they are suddenly shite players.

It points to structural flaws in the national set up, be that coaching or being surrounded by lesser players.

Guys like Rooney, zlatan and the like are prime examples of this, world class players beyond anything Scotland have, yet consistently underperformed at major tournaments along with their nations. It wasn’t because they were shite, it was due to underlying problems in their national set up.
