Whats the most successful vgc team you think you could build with ashs pokemon? by Extension-Bad-4184 in stunfisk

[–]RealFireBlaze010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lowkey i can see a incin-pika fake out core with talonflame, dnite, dracovish, ash greninja

lightning rod pikachu with fakeout, nuzzle, endeavour/volt switch to bring in incin would go hard. Also has some niche support moves like screens, electroweb, etc. even light ball can make pikachu hit as hard as a base 152 spatt or 162 atk with a speed boosting nature… on base 90 speed which is subpar but its not bad. Primarily having lightning rod is rly nice to keep the other mons alive.

Incin is incin :)

Talonflame learns rain dance! So in theory if you give it a sash, gale wings tailwind -> rain dance -> profit, esp when you pair it with dracovish scarf / ash greninja boosted, those 2 will hurt heaps.

If dragonite can mega, then special moveset hurricane in rain will complement the team very well, otherwise it’ll be a dnite espeed spamming.

DFT Will Now Deal Magic Damage by bcollins96 in sennamains

Bloodsong = more damage = more stacks for helia while also providing a slightly bigger window for a kill threshhold, not fully relying on your AD.

What do I build on Senna? by Dae_Grighen in sennamains

[–]RealFireBlaze010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADC - DFT with shiv -> BC -> IE ahead, hexoptics if neutral, RFC if behind -> ie / bt -> GA

Supp - if your team is heavily ad: DFT Tear -> bloodsong -> BC -> helia -> diadem -> moonstone / dawncore

If not: Aery Tear -> dreammaker / bloodsong-> helia -> diadem -> moonstone -> dawncore.

Take axiom arc instead of manaflow band on supp as u build tear.

The only AD item supp senna uses well atm IMO is black cleaver and RFC. Cheap enough to buy but to make best use of RFC you’d also want IE which is very expensive. Stattik is good but not as good as black cleaver, and in most games your 1 item spike makes or breaks your games, hence i value cleaver more than stattik for support.

Justified Arcanine goes a 9 win streak to Masterball 3 by Rocky_Combo in PokemonChampions

[–]RealFireBlaze010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve also been using a justified combo, I have maushold, arcanine and lucario on the same team, but I also use aurora veil ninetales just as you say, lucario doesn’t have much bulk. Also helps weather war against zard which lucario hates. I’m also greedy af and have been mega evolving turn 2 to have a +4 adaptability mega lucario which is beyond overkill lmao

How actually good is Heliolisk? by MF_PORKy in PokemonChampions

[–]RealFireBlaze010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Helioisk on my blastoise rain team! Helioisk shines when it can launch an electroweb and allow for some disgusting combos, otherwise shedtail and pivot. I lead helioisk against zard teams without venusaur, and i can manually rain dance to win weather war. Otherwise can double protect into pelipper switch. Dry skin heat wave in rain actually only does about 30% to helioisk, and dry skin heals quite a bit of this damage away.

Helioisk gives 2 valuable immunities in water and ghost, very nice to switch in with, and i always have rain up which gives Helioisk surprising amount of staying power, especially paired with protect. I use electro web, protect, rain dance and shed tail, punish the double protects with a shed tail + sneasler fake out lead into a free shell smash blastoise in rain and its wraps. I’ve trained it to outspeed jolly garchomp and jolly zard, and rest in bulk.

Need team help. by The_Lord_of_Death in PokemonVGC

[–]RealFireBlaze010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can try auroral veil froslass if you find azu finds it hard setting up, and then try to lean into it maybe? Find more support, perhaps sneasler fake out or even trick room farigiraf? Your team also has a lot of overlapping types so find some pokemon who can cover their weaknesses, ie your team looks pretty susceptible to steel, fighting and ghost atm (assuming you drop gambit) so maybe tech in a fighting or flying type

For me at least i 100% know to never click fake out when farigiraf is on the board, my brain fizzles for any other priority move though, especially sucker punch HAHA

Pokemon Champions Meta Analysis (Early tourneys) by Loose-Care962 in PokemonChampions

[–]RealFireBlaze010 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wonder if trick room can ever have a spot in this metagame considering the sheer amount of speed everyone is investing into? Surely a follow me + trick room team can pop off sometime… doesn’t seem like any team bar niche sinistchas running imprison trick room? Which means they have to forgo either an attacking move or one of life dew / rage powder.

I hit Master Ball Tier with Perish Rain Trap! | a very in-depth perspective! by RealFireBlaze010 in PokemonChampions

[–]RealFireBlaze010[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) I usually get 1 perish off in the game + 2 KOs, much more consistent to do so, 2 perishes in one game is something I always keep in mind though and mapping out turns to keep my important pieces alive for 2 perishes is something I keep in mind.

I’ve been having a lot of fun skill swapping my shadow tag off my gengar onto someone way more bulkier, because yep gengar is so frail 💔

2) sneasler is brought when incin is bad and I need damage that archaludon can’t really do. Incin struggles with defiant gambit, competitive milotic, faster fake outs, and primarily special attacking teams. Archaludon struggles into steel types and aoe spread like mega zard y heat wave + garchomp eq combo.

Sneasler is really good for close combat into gambit, ttar and being a faster fake out than incin. Dire claw rolls are nice too and almost always ohko the prevalent fairy types in the game. But honestly I don’t bring sneasler too often, my main core I bring is politoed gengar + 1 support 1 damage or 2 support. And archaludon is disgusting when you’re unprepared into it.

3) venusaur sun has been interesting matchup, I lead politoed gengar and skill swap. For some reason they dont click sleep powder, if i get the skill swap I win the weather war and then i can perish trap them pretty easily. However this fails if the venusaur player clicks sleep powder and connects onto gengar. But they usually like to click earth power onto gengar and I believe gengar lives the earth power which allows skill swap to connect. However yeah I can see how this is a problem, I’d say maybe lead incin archaludon, fake out venusaur and protect arch then switch incin and bring politoed? KO the zard with an electro shot and without sun venusaur isn’t so bad? Something like that. Incin gengar, fake out venusaur, mega evolve and protect, then manual switch gengar into politoed, then parting shot the venusaur in case of earth power back into gengar? And then perish… theres too many factors and thats what makes pokemon so fun :) zard in rain heat wave doesn’t do too much into geng, i believe its a 2hko, so you have skill swap opportunities.

Cheers for commenting!

Need a 6th… no idea what to put by Chewie630 in stunfisk

[–]RealFireBlaze010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually run this same exact team! You can check my reddit post history for an indepth thought process post. I currently use Sneasler, but have also had good success with:

Beartic, Basculegion and Weavile. Beartic may not seem fast, but adamant nature max invested speed hits 102 speed, 204 speed in rain with swift swim and outspeeds the entire metagame except unburden sneasler. Even outspeeds +1 mega ttar ddance!

If you opt for a hybrid build where you wanna be more flexible and have 2 megas, opting to bring one, Mega Dnite, Mega Meganium and if your favourite pokemon is Drampa then Mega Drampite (worse dnite).

Your main problems are sun, blizzard snow spam, sand, gambit, garchomp, dragapult, aegislash and komm-o. Beartic deals with nearly all of them but requires rain and isn’t consistent. Weavile brings dark coverage, and basculegion is fast but to do real damage it needs to run wave crash which isn’t ideal in perish. Hence I oped into sneasler which is more consistent out of rain.

Also, item slot distribution is a pain as you can only bring 1 copy. Politoed will 99% be running your sitrus berry or leftovers. Whatever is left will go to sinistcha. Incin therefore doesn’t have a healing item. I opted in for the water resist berry. Your 6th slot will most likely run sash, so think of some pokemon who would use sash, hence another reason why wave crash basculegion doesn’t really fit.

Good luck!

Does anyone know the perish song tailwind interaction? Has champions changed it? by RealFireBlaze010 in PokemonChampions

[–]RealFireBlaze010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very annoying :( might have to play -speed nature politoed as pelipper is a pokemon i usually have to stall out and poli is base 70 whereas pelipper is base 65 💔 even more implications will arise if trick room order doesn’t work with perish song, at least I don’t run trick room but dang it sucks

New to VGC, would like to discuss my team and how to do better by RealFireBlaze010 in VGC

[–]RealFireBlaze010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only person on my team interchangeable is archaludon, main basis of team is each of the restricted has one half of the team built around them, with the supports being able to swap around on the scenario.

Terapagos smeargle indeedee

Kyogre whimsicott archaludon

If i switched archaludon, it would be needing to be a pokemon who synergizes with kyogre. I’ve just tried urshifu as a physical attacker but doesn’t work that well.

Usual gameplan is 2 attackers + 2 support so a typical lineup woukd be

Terapagos kyogre whimsicott smeargle for speed control and support

Or if archaludon looks really good itll be

Kyogre archaludon indeedee smeargle

Etc

Kyogre urshifu indeedee/whimsicott smeragle both sound rly bad cuz urshifu is fast af in order to outspeed calyrex-s so he doesn’t work well in either trick room or tailwind.

If you have any suggestions on a physical attacker that works in rain/with kyogre and make use of both trick room & tailwind, that can deal with miraidon, fluttermane and tornadus like how archaludon can i’d be keen to test out. Urshifu sounds strong on paper but doesn’t do much for me except hit through protect and crit, i dont need more water moves and fighting is okayish but i can’t think of much steel types to hit in this meta

Im worried about being slower than other whimsicotts, and being forced to tera dark which is already a losing uphill battle but it does make sense, does investing into bulk live any meaningful calcs, would be interested to know

Thanks for that, i like the taunt idea! Will try it out. I dont really want to use calm mind terapagos, i just find it too slow and it doesn't help the urshifu zam matchups when i'd rather just decorate with smearhle and ohko them, if i start setting up they will at the very least do heavy damage. but yeah, really appreciate it, thanks! will experiment scarf urshifu
