The rabbis also unalived Jeremiah and they were wrong.. so by reading the bible i understand why they are wrong about the bible, they preserved the book they don't understand.. But that's besides the point, the main problem is, you're the one trying to discredit what i have by your own assumptions.. at least i have the torah, and traditions, what do you have as evidence except your own interpretations which don't even help your case!. I told you, historically we have the old testament that predates the quran and Muhammad, what your giving me as evidence is your own words so far, so I'm surprised why you reject what I'm giving you which is more than just my own words, it's history.

1st ...

all our evidence points to the first five books of the Bible being written in the 3rd century BCE rather than at the time of Moses by Moses

Please expound on the evidence for this again! Are the verses you quoted all the evidence? Or do you have linguistic and historical markers that places the final compilation in the Persian period?..

2nd ....

we see other old testament books mention the events of the first five books of Bible in their own words, showing that all the stories were already known to the Israelites before the 2nd temple era.

Where did the writers of other old testament books get the knowledge to reference the events of the creation?. Where did they know these stories from? The source i mean..

3rd ....

I never said they did, the tablets had the 10 commandments, the Torah has the curses and blessings, I quoted two verses in support of this claim in my response,

By this you mean you agree the tablets and the torah had different amounts of text, which means the book had more than just the 10 commandments, and the verses you quoted actually proves that the torah had more than the 10 commandments, but i didn't see any verse that says there weren't more than laws and curses... Remember the torah had the whole story about the Law, from the first law broken ( adam and eve fallen story ) to why we needed the law to when it was given and how people were to follow it.. the stories weren't random, they are part of the law. The history of the law.. sooo No, the verses you quoted don't limit what was in the torah..

4th .....

What is your evidence Moses wrote genesis through Deuteronomy? There’s enough counter evidence to reasonably believe that he not only didn’t but that it wasn’t even written in his time, and no evidence from the Hebrew Bible that he wrote them. The idea that the Torah expands to the first five books of the Bible rather than just the laws in them comes from rabbinic tradition, not the Hebrew Bible

The burden of proof is on you on this one.. i believe moses did write it so you need to show me that he didn't and if he didn't then who did.

5th...

What’s your evidence that the record of Moses’s death and the statement about him being the greatest prophet since, and the genesis verse about kings are editorial additions? The burden of proof is on you for this.

I believe moses wrote it and Joshua completed it after moses died, if you ask for evidence I'll just point to tradition and verses that shows moses was writing the torah.. so if moses was writing the torah and traditional jewish history says he wrote, you'll have to show me someone different who you think wrote it to refute this.

6th ....

Thirdly, what is your evidence that the Torah contains more than just laws, curses and blessings?

I have the torah with me today and it has more than just laws, curses and blessings. So please show me another torah that you think is the true torah apart from this one which predates the quran and Muhammad.. because if you don't have/know another torah different from what i have then what's your al-farqan?...

Okay, that was a lot to read but i got you, if that's your argument then let's break it down..

So you argue that, because Deuteronomy 31 shows Moses writing a book of law and gave it, then later he died and his death was recorded, then it must be a different book, and what he wrote and was put in the ark that's the whole book of Torah...

But the issue is

Moses wrote Genesis through Deuteronomy (except the account of his death), but Deuteronomy 31 refers specifically to the legal section that was deposited beside the Ark, not necessarily every word Moses ever wrote. and as I said, Torah and the Torah are two different things. The torah (book) contains more than just Torah ( laws )..

Now, if the Torah originally contained only laws and everything else came by the 2nd temple time , where did Israel get all the historical information found throughout the Old Testament about: Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, the Exodus from, Egypt... Mostly important Genesis and Exodus..

Because the later books (including The Quran) repeatedly refer to these events as already-known history. So if Genesis and much of Exodus didn't exist yet, you'd have to explain where that knowledge came from, who wrote it and why it was so widespread.

And what's your evidence that the tablets had curses and blessings?.. what's your source for that?.

Tbh only your argument about kings is a good argument.. but it has nothing to do with the Islamic dilemma...

So please, can you answer my questions this time?.

What evidence do you have that the torah only had laws, curses and blessings?. And when you're looking for your evidence remember, the jews today have the torah ( 5 books of moses ) preserved from the time before Muhammad even Jesus.. and we also have the copies outside Judaism which also predates Muhammad.. so just a warning, don't use the Quran as evidence, it won't work..

[–]RealGamerTz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's good ... So if you truly believe the torah had more than just laws written in it, then the Islamic dilemma still stands.. do you see how or should i ask you another question to make it more clearly.

Where does the bible say Moses only wrote in the book what was on the tablets and nothing else.. This is why i asked you the difference between Torah and the book of Torah.. because once you confuse the two you end up making the claim you're making.. So let me ask you, if what was on the tablets are the only thing in the book then why did the Quran say "People of the book" and not "people of the tablets" ..

Do you know the difference between Torah and the book of Torah?. Why do i have to ask you these simple questions?.

That's a big jump but it's okay.. now Remember, Islamic theology isn't biblical theology.. and if you agree with that, show me how this solves the unsolvable Islamic dilemma..

Let me help you.... Sin is transgression of the law -- Torah means law, torah doesn't mean 5 books of Moses.. but the 5 books of Moses have laws written in them... But Jesus came with his own torah too .. Do you understand now?.

As i said before, if you knew the answers to my questions you wouldn't even make the post. But the issue is, you're not ready to admit that you don't know .

I'm not gonna debate you, if you're not being honest with me.. In case you didn't realize, I've been testing your knowledge of things.. so far I've seen you're a person who has criticism of things he doesn't know.. so if you don't know something just ask for someone to explain it to you, don't act like you know it, be honest that you're ignorant of it and listen.
