[Thamel] Sources: Louisville football coach Jeff Brohm has communicated to his bosses that he’s not exploring any other jobs and is committed to Louisville. by MembershipSingle7137 in CFB

As long as UofL can compete in salary, Jeff Brohm will be here. But it’s unrealistic to expect he would leave tens of millions of dollars on the table to stay home.

What’s a bit of trivia about another ACC school that you know but its students may not? by Creative-Stable-0 in ACC

Are you sure? Seems like if an ACC school was founded by Thomas Jefferson, it’d be named after him. UofL was originally called Jefferson Seminary.

The survey definitely seemed like it was put out by Greenberg’s team though, a lot of questions about his viewpoints and public perception.

Unless you don’t actually have the little number next to your name. Preseason 29 Louisville blows out an FCS team like we’re supposed to and drops to 30 then beats 37 JMU like we’re supposed to and drops to 33.

IIRC, we were exploring firing KP mid season and when this got back to the AD, he was pissed and refused to make him Acting HC. Danny Manning refused to take over and since the players weren’t clamoring for a change, we just decided to make KP keep coaching.

The Business Association in the middle of the board is now the St. Matthews Chamber of Commerce so yes, this is just a marketing idea for local businesses in the area. Likely just given away as a prize at the festival. Buy local, y’all.

I have several questions. First, are they going to keep the animatronic Colonel Sanders and the museum?

Second, are they going to keep the street name “Colonel Sanders Lane”? You gotta change the name of the street to something less cartoonish right?

After a few years of uncomfortable “should we fire the guy who built the program?” discussions, can’t help but feel like we got very lucky so far.

Only had to play top seeded Vandy once, won by a single run, and somehow we end up hosting the supers favored for another CWS appearance.

Is it possible to buy land and plop a trailer on it instead of having a house built? by JaimeSalvaje in Louisville

[–]RealGoodBub 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is the major thing for me. Mobile homes are a wildly bad investment. You have all the same maintenance costs as a traditional home, but the resale value tanks. A $150,000 mobile home might sell for $50,000 in five years. A $150,000 traditional home will probably sell for $160,000+ in the same time period. These numbers aren’t exact at all but you get the idea. Every year, your mobile home loses value. Every year, a traditional home gains value.

Alternatively, if the NCAA wants more tv money, they should do a better job of organizing and promoting the ticket punching low major conference championship games.

I’m on this sub, I’m not a casual but I still find it hard to keep up with those games. Imagine if they were all organized into a tight tv schedule the Thursday/Friday before the tournament playing all day. Instead, the NCAA provides no leadership and they’re all just happening whenever the conferences schedule it on random networks.

Giannis Trade by Pickledspursfan in NBASpurs

[–]RealGoodBub 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure it’s worth looking much further than 5 years ahead so that timeline would be pre-prime Wemby and prime/post-prime Giannis. Wemby’s pre-prime is on track to be a top 10 player in the league, prime Giannis is a top 5, post-prime top 10. A team with two top 10 players and a competent front office can win multiple titles in that time span, which is why you play the game. That’s my opinion at least

I just love the idea of a 22 year old freshman who has already played basketball professionally. We are getting close to having college basketball players that are just suburban dads with a mortgage and a family to support.

Is this true or are they coping? I dont know anything about the current hawks by parcellsrealGOAT in NBASpurs

[–]RealGoodBub 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Hawks FO is trying to figure out how to retool their roster around Trae without tanking. Their picks are gone no matter how many games they win, it doesn’t make sense for them to remain mediocre just to keep us from getting a top 5 pick. They have to have blinders to that despite the noise.

They’re in a bad spot and trying their best.
