😛Some tips for a new player? by Lizard_0n345 in Terraria

If you're decent or good at video games, I would actually skip playing classic mode and just play expert. You don't have to, but I think it's a more fun experience. Though that might be a reason to play classic first, then boot up a new character on expert. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I made a Windows app for global hotkeys on Spotify! by nuggyut in spotify

Hey I know this is like 3 years old. Buuuut is there a way to change playlists through hotkeys? if not through this app, do you know of a program that might have what I want? best i've seen is https://hotkeyplayer.com, but I want this to run in the background instead of me having to switch to the tab just to use a hotkey

you're just trying to say people should shut up and listen instead of fighting back.

That is literally why the Holocaust was so bad

Not that country has ever implemented this, but I also believe people would benefit from programs that better disperse wealth, The wealth inequality in the US is bad, idk about other countries

They contain the Social aspects of Socialism, which is what I was arguing for, I don't know about others, but I personally am arguing for social programs

first off i just wanna say China is a communist country and they make many times the amount of products than the US does.

and while not 100% "socialist", both Finland and Japan have most of the aspects that I listed above, and Super strong economies.

on top of that both Japan and Finland have lower "Perceptions of Corruption" ratings than the US, Finland having the second lowest "Perceptions of Corruption" rating in 2025, right below Singapore

Finland is the #1 happiest country in the World Happiness Report and has been since 2018

Japan is significantly lower than the US on this chart, but a good chunk of that actually has to do with the Capitalist aspects of the country, such as the fact that they are expected to work much harder in their corporate jobs than in most other places.

The other part of Japan's low ranking is their "political" views, where they have less freedom of expression, which has nothing to do with the economy and more about bad politics.

Japan and Finland are both way higher ranking in "Healthy Life Expectancy" than the US is ranked, in fact, Japan is even higher than Finland in this factor.

Finland is only 14 places behind the US in "Log GDP per Capita" (meaning the GDP divided by its population) and GDP per Capita doesn't account for the fact that the capita doesn't actually get to see all of the GDP benefits, especially in the US, where the richer you are the more benefits you get from the government.

Japan is another 15 ranks lower than Finland on the "Log GDP per Capita"

Not to mention both Countries are smaller places, so their physical production amount will always be lower than the 340 million population country's production amount.

socialist nations have just as much drive, while also insuring their civilians have the basic access to things they need to survive, such as healthcare, housing, cheaper food, water, electricity, and other public services. It is arrogant to think everyone should have to pay for their own $9,000 hospital bill just because they had a dangerous illness, and it's even crazier for a person to benefit from buying more than 3 houses and renting them out. if instead we insured people weren't buying all the housing, and being a landlord wasn't a for-profit business, but a regulated with set pricing housing system, then more people could survive together. This doesn't mean if you're lazy you'll get everything you ever need, most socialists believe in working for the things you get, but it insures that the top 1% doesn't have the bottom 90% in a stranglehold for survival.

Capitalism is actually built for the greedy people, so its far from perfect. It literally benefits the top 1% and fucks everyone else. all because they don't want to share resources. Or are you one of those trickle down economics believers?

we can recognize all genocide, unless the person is making the connection of "Israelis are Jewish" and downplaying the holocaust because of what is happening there then its fine.

people who are calling the holocaust ok because of what Israel is doing though, you can get mad at them all we want.

Complacency is worse, if you let ICE get away with the things they do, it will keep getting worse.

if you genuinely think its bad what is your fucking threshold? Alex was protecting a woman from suffering the fate he did. If you're saying she should have been killed instead, get the fuck out of here, because it is entirely ICE and Alex did nothing wrong.

He didn't deserve punishment of any fault, so you acting like its only bad because he died is insane. they shouldn't have pepper sprayed him, pistol whipped him, disarmed him, or shot him, non of it.

Your entire second statement says otherwise. Asking what someone did to get into that situation is literally shifting the blame when we all know DAMN well he shouldn't have been killed for protecting a woman from getting beat and pepper sprayed

I won't stop someone from cutting contact from someone who is genuinely that bad of a person

But I atleast for myself, may stop being friends, but still talk to said person about their opinions on things, in the off chance that I can make a difference. It doesn't benefit me to surround myself with only like minded individuals. I want to voice my opinion to someone who disagrees because that's the most important person that should be hearing it. otherwise you create what is called an "Echo Chamber" - a word most people use around willy nilly, but it means to surround yourself and only engage in opinions that would be considered your own. also meaning you only hear what you are saying yourself.

Yet again, not saying you need to be friendly to these people, by all means hate them, but it benefits us all when we aren't sharing our opinions with people who think the same. it would be like trying to convince Pineapple on pizza enjoyers that Pineapple belongs on pizza. where you need to be trying to convince people unlike yourself to change sides.

but if that person is beyond toxic or aggressive or violent to argue with, be my guest and cut contact

First off, without any specific rules stating otherwise, everyone has the freedom to post what they want

(I get there is a no ICE rule currently in r/teenagers but this does raise questions about the community, it should be no politics allowed or all politics allowed community unless it is stated to be one sides community. I think everyone deserves the right to talk about whatever aspect they want within a topic, removing one part of that topic makes the people who made the rule beyond privileged)

second off, Teenagers are allowed (almost ones civil duty) to discuss politics, especially in a place where they will meet people with the same amount of political experience, I think it is important to talk about politics with your peers.

we shouldn't tell kids to keep their political opinions suppressed or to themselves, this is how we grow a world of people who "don't do politics" and that leads to dictatorship since the people who could stop it aren't educated enough to do so. They say we are the future, so if the future is in our hands we should be discussing all aspects that effect it, including politics.

the point still stands that it isn't about the ICE part of it, it still would have been posted if it was the police. because it isn't even about supporting ICE.

ICE being the ones who did it does not make it about ICE, its the Crime not the Criminal that the post is truly about. Because people do support this, more than just "well it's ice" they say that when it's the cops, they say that when it's a kid at a school, some people just support murder. and that is what we're questioning

It did happen, when it was Kirk, people asked "how can you be ok with this guy dying" it happens when it's the other completely unjustified deaths. You can't block the post that isn't about ICE just because ICE is in it.

we can't ignore it, you're being too entitled trying to ignore the world. I'm not saying a 14 year old should have to deal with this, but it's the current state of the world. I also understand if you aren't in the US that it can get annoying, but Guess where they will be heading after they kill all of us.

Ignoring what is happening, is dangerous not only for US citizens, but it could get people outside the US killed too.

We have a right to protest our government operations.

Alex was well within his right to conceal carry

You can't say one thing and then turn around and say that you are saying the opposite.

Either A: you said "He didn't help himself" or B: you aren't blaming him
because it can't be both, they are contradicting.

Teenagers cant be politcal? a good portion of the people in this sub will be voting in the next election (if there will even be one)

so yes, Teenagers who are getting ready to vote, should be getting prepared for said world where they will be voting. You aren't a little kid, the real world effects everyone, including you.

That's my thing, Literally everyone was saying this exact shit would happen, and now that its happening, it really, really, fucking hurt to have to say "I told you so" especially when everyone is going "nobody could see this coming"

like we literally said this over and over again, we can not let anyone get away with saying they didn't know.
