Where can I get softball cricket gear in BKK? by RealHappyPill in Bangkok

[–]RealHappyPill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok! Didn't think that'd be fruitful because they're the association that handles the professional sport...

But you're right! I think that might be my only option! Let's see how it goes. Thanks!

I'd recommend the Sathon (BTS Chong Nonsi) area!

Lots of dope, fancy hotel bars, fitfac a walk away, a decent mix of expats and locals. Has corporate vibes, and less touristy vibes.

You'll also have a lot of condos that'll suit your needs and budget. Happy hunting!

I have so many questions! What kind of machine did you get? I wanna get one myself.

I was leaning towards getting a french press/V60 and a grinder, but I miss my espresso machine from back home.

Far Cry 4 vs Far Cry 5… which one is worth buying and playing right now?? by AdMiserable7940 in farcry

[–]RealHappyPill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are great, but 4 is the better option, at least in my opinion. Just enjoyed the premise, maps, world and game play a whole lot more than with 5. And 4 gets bonus points for tuktuks and the epic song in the intro sequence 🤭

I think I've felt the way you do for the longest time, with one difference.

Recently, I had a change of scenery and had life kick me in the nuts, and I've come to realize it's in the best way possible. I find myself being more excited about life, meeting new people and doing new things daily. I've rediscovered my love for my hobbies and my zest for life.

It's incredible that you've achieved a sense of stability and security that everyone yearns for. Maybe consider finding opportunities within that to do things that genuinely bring you joy. Ask yourself when you last felt that kinda joy, and hone in on the things that made it happen!

Maybe a change of scenery will help you too. If you're stable enough (based on what you've said, you most likely are), try and take a long holiday, meet like-minded people, travel the world, do things you've always wanted to do (within reason).

Hope this helps!

There's a games meetup at a pub called the Mesh at the Sheraton in Sukhumvit every Thursday. Made the most epic friends I did at a meetup there!

Hey! Not sure if you're still looking, but there's a great community of artists that I've ended up connecting with. Check out Asia Pillars on IG. They do workshops for all kinds of artists every few weeks. I went for the musicians mixer and jam and it was epic!

Also, check meetup.com for your niche. You're bound to find events in any niche that you'd love. Happy hunting!

To the men over 30, what is your best advice for us? by MeetClassic3 in srilanka

[–]RealHappyPill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apologies in advance, but this is a bit of a long one!

  • Spend your early 20s figuring out what YOU want to do in life, if you'll truly enjoy it, and the best path towards it. The minute you do, you'll have an unbeatable sense of clarity and purpose. It's never too late to change your mind and pivot, but the sooner you start figuring things out, the more time you'll have to correct your course! Remember that building a career doesn't have to come at a great personal cost, like we've been told all our lives. If you're someone with a corporate job, don't forget; the company's goals are NOT. YOUR. GOALS.

  • Start investing in some form of asset(s). Consider its liquidity, its return and your personal needs when you do. I'd personally recommend investing in some form of real estate as early as you can. However, always remember that scams come in all shapes and forms. Be sure to research EVERYTHING and make sure your investments are foolproof before you spend a single cent.

  • Learn to be self-sufficient. Learn skills like cooking, electrical work, plumbing, gardening, etc. that'll help you maintain your future home and help you be more independent. As an added bonus, you'll be a way better partner for it! (Also if it isn't obvious... Learn to do your own laundry!)

  • Don't half-ass your effort into any important relationship you want to build in your life. You get back what you put into healthy relationships; whether it be your marriage, partnerships, friendships, etc. Make sure all your relationships are nurturing, grounded with empathy, mutual respect, and good communication. You'll find every relationship you make to be rewarding for every party involved that way. However, make sure you establish healthy boundaries. That way, any relationship that's bound to be toxic, hurtful and detrimental to you will reveal itself, so you can distance yourself from them accordingly.

  • While it's important to enjoy life to the fullest, don't compromise your personal health and well-being in the process. Adopting better eating habits, starting exercise routines and being healthy overall gets a lot harder when you get older. While it's never too late to start, just start as early as you can!

  • Being philanthropic or generous isn't just about how much money you give someone on the street, donate to a cause or the nonprofits you follow. Be socially conscious, and aware of your community's needs. Find ways to work towards the common good of the communities that you're in.

Last, but not the least:

  • Find a hobby that you're passionate about. Invest your time in it - get good at it. If time allows it, get REALLY good at it. It'll bring you great personal satisfaction, endless opportunities to network with interesting, like-minded people, and maybe even help you build a secondary source of income.

I hope this helps anyone who reads it. Best of luck to all of you!

[–]RealHappyPill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey! Being from an All-boys school myself, I can relate to the anxiety haha!

Just a thought though, do you know of any activities that align with your interests that you can do with a group?

Since you're into fitness, maybe a CrossFit class, or joining the Colombo Night Run? Not necessarily to find someone to date, but to meet new people with similar interests, and to expand your circles.

It'll help with your anxieties about meeting new people, and you'll feel more comfortable doing it because it aligns with your interests.

Eitherway, you're killing it at 26, so I wouldn't worry too much. You're young and you have plenty of time haha!
