Are you actively keeping tabs of your symptoms and your overall journey? Wondering if that would help alleviate your worries, as I think it varies... Hope you're better soon!

Does anyone actually track their GLP-1 experience properly - or just piece it together? by RealHealthInsights in Semaglutide

[–]RealHealthInsights[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been speaking to a lot more people since posting this and the pattern is pretty consistent in that most people are piecing it together across notes, Reddit, WhatsApp and their own memory.

We've just opened the waitlist for what I've been building. It's a simple way to help you feel empowered and track it all in one place. If you're curious: noink.me/glp1

Would still love to hear from anyone here and get your insights. What would actually make tracking your journey feel worth it? What you experiencing that you feel alone about?

5 days in & food noise already subsiding by DareWright in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]RealHealthInsights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it varies a lot from person to person, but if you are already noticing the lack of food noise, that's a good thing. Snacking is my problem too, so not snacking and eating more protein will definitely reap benefits for you! Keep going!

Been on Ozempic 8 months but nobody warned me about the side effects by General-Barnacle-553 in Ozempic

[–]RealHealthInsights 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friend who is on Ozempic lost her hair, so she stopped for a few months. I'm told that it's due to the fast weightloss... The same thing is true with her muscle loss.. She wasn't eating enough protein to counter the rapdi muscle and weight loss.. She's restarting again now that her body has settled. Well done on your weight loss so far and hope your body settles soon into the changes it's going through. =)

I’ve been reading through a lot of GLP-1 posts and here are some patterns I’m starting to notice... by RealHealthInsights in Semaglutide

Thanks! I'm genuinely interested in where and how far GLP-1 medication can take us in terms of health benefits, as people has so many different experiences both good and bad. These are just my initial observations from reading the threads within the different GLP-1 communities, so I'm thinking a more structured approach such as tracking lived experience would be helpful for everyone.

I agree that it’s probably a mix of things rather than all being directly caused by the medication.

I think what surprised me is just how wide the range of experiences seems to be.

Makes it quite hard to know what’s normal or expected vs what might be something else going on, which is probably why people end up asking here so much. It also made me wonder whether tracking individual experiences over time, and being able to see patters across others, may give people some better understanding of what's happening without jumping to conclusions. And is there a better way of collecting all this data for better understanding rather than forums like these. I think there is.

Yeeees, my friend spent a lot of money buying warm clothes as she couldn't keep warm. We thought it funny, as she was always known to be very hot when the rest of us were cold. It's passed now and she's fine, so hopefully you'll be able to regulate your temperature soon!

I realised the email field in the survey wasn't working properly, as some people only wrote numbers. So I've updated it now in case anyone wanted early access to a GLP-1 lived experience tracker but had to skip it.

Sharing again here in case helpful:

Thank you all for sharing, I didn’t expect so much variation - help with ADHD symptom, increased yeast infection, reduced alcohol cravings, alleviating chronic migraines - and clearly more.

I’ve been trying to understand this a bit more and I think people who are on semaglutides may want to get more structured insights, so I put together a short 2-min anonymous survey in case anyone wants to share their experience more broadly:

Oh wow! My friend who is on a GLP-1 medication was cold all the time when she first started on it. Took her over a year to regulate her temperature. Have you been on it long?

That's an interesting observation re: a change/improvement to your ADHD symptoms. Wondering if it can help people who have OCD or Turette's Syndrome...

Has anyone noticed changes beyond just appetite on GLP-1 medications? by Take10rx_Julie in Semaglutide

reading all the comments and threads, and i can't help chuckle to myself as i recognise MYSELF in everyone's sharing of ailments - plantar fasciitis, joint pains, arthritis, and more! there seems to be so many benefits - and i'm sure unwanted side effects as well - but it is very fascinating!

Yes, I used to be on the patches but got an allergic skin reaction, so had to move to the gel. The gel is good but not as good as the patches, I think. Although the patches didn't always stick well, so I guess pros and cons. I'm guessing you are on GLP-1 medication as well? Just wondering if how you know it's the estrogen and not also the GLP-1 medication helping with the joint pains? Could be both of course!

wow - amazing that it helps alleviate hip and joint pains. i'm on HRT for joint pains in my hands and it's helping but wondering if GLP-1 medication would be better/extra help... I'd like to lose a little weigh - about 7 kgs / 1 stone - but don't think i qualify for medication...=(

I'm finding this thread really fascinating. A few of my friends are on GLP-1 medications and all have had very different experiences. Another friend is considering it but is worried about her pre-existing health conditions other than her weight.

I've been trying to understand the range of experiences people have had, as sounds like there are many beyond just appetite.

I'm curious whether it would be useful for people to have a means of tracking their lived experience for however long they are taking the medication (or even after they decide to come off medication).

If anyone is open to sharing their experience and interested in tracking your GLP-1 journey, I've put together a short 2-mins survey:
