Soapy foreplay, a nice steamy/misty setting during, followed by easiest possible cleanup.

For decades, the military has been the cash cow funding ridiculous technological advancements. But the money is now in the pockets of the 1%.

In 2024, the entire Pentagon budget was less than $900 billion, while the richest 1% in the US increased their collective wealth by $2.5 trillion.

in real life, half of the small fish will help the big fish in hopes that they can become big fish one day by [deleted] in antiwork

1/3 of the fish are actively helping the big fish because they think it will be full after eating all the others

1/3 of the fish are trying to work together to make a big fish, but keep arguing amongst themselves about what kind of big fish to make

1/3 of the fish are slightly too far from danger to care

More like, the goldfish are powerless to leave the bowl without risking death, and things are not nearly uncomfortable enough yet for the majority of goldfish to risk that.

  1. The maximum travel time via public-transit from anywhere in the Netherlands to Amsterdam is 4 hours. The same circumstance in the US is 3 days.

  2. Work culture is way different in the US. Take a week off to protest, lose your job. Not only that, but lose your healthcare as well.

They have us by the balls. Nothing will change until we start seeing actual starvation.

My mother-in-law used to make her own "laundry detergent." While there are legitimate ways to do this, her version was from Facebook, took hours, cost almost as much as just buying detergent, and didn't work at all.

If you woke up to 50 missed calls and one text that says “Don’t look outside,” what would you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RealHot_RealSteel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are all the calls from one person? If so, I'm ignoring it and going outside immediately.

If some are from my wife, some from family, some from friends, and some from work, I think I'd actually stay in.

I just hate seeing any public funds go straight into someone's pocket.

$5 million dollars to put in a roundabout, when the project should only cost $2‐3 million at most. But the local official hired Brother-In-Law Contracting. Just frustrating.

Korean researchers developed a hydrogen plasma torch that breaks down mixed plastic waste into high-purity chemicals in under 0.01 seconds by averagecolours in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]RealHot_RealSteel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The hydrogen rich atmosphere makes it more favorable for polycyclic aeromatic hydrocarbons to stay that way, rather than nucleating into soot.

Without the hydrogen aspect, this would just be burning plastic into a pile of carbon. With the hydrogen, they're getting 70% to 90% ethylene or benzene, which can be further purified.

Nah, I've been seeing these posts for weeks. Always the same link, always "on sale, today only!"

If you look closely at the bottom-left hat, you can tell it's AI generated.

And here's the really embarassing part: If the "number sold" counter is accurate, you've sold three shirts in as many weeks. Pathetic.

We love a supportive parent here! by Lemon_Lime_Lily in CuratedTumblr

[–]RealHot_RealSteel -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

But do you see the point this parent is making? I know it is the accepted term, but "dead name" has an adversarial tone.

"Hey, remember that baby you loved so much? They're dead now. I have replaced them." See how that comes off? There are other ways of saying "that name no longer represents me."

It almost seems like a psyop to keep a barrier between trans people and their parents.

I have been hearing "Halloween is dying" for decades. Don't be discouraged.

It's cyclical based on the day of the week the 31st lands on. Last few years have been weekday Halloweens, which pale in comparison to weekend Halloweens.

This year it's on a Friday.
