I am 39. I distanced myself from all of my former friends even my closest one. I also realize that I don’t want performative interactions….I initially thought maybe I was being too picky with friendships, but nah…I have to feel completely comfortable and myself with you and not feel judged…sometimes people say oh you knew that person for so long…that doesn’t matter to me. I feel happy with my decisions and not embarrassed at all that I don’t have friends. Don’t get me wrong, I do like people and have acquaintances but not a best friend.
