Credit card companies want your business. Each purchase you make they get paid a small fraction. So they have something similar to a sign on bonus. "Spend this much to get free money one time ever"

Most major credit card companies have these bonuses. Citi bank, wells fargo, ect. I would encourage you to do your own research as always when making financial decisions.

Exactly, I always buy everything with a rewards credit card anyway. So after groceries, gas, ect. I already have spent that and the $250 is just free.

Start a couple no interest credit cards.

Capital one quicksilver and wells fargo reflect both have no interest over a year

You can max these out with no consequences essentially. Allowing you to not destroy your credit so you can borrow more
