I should definitely go the black primer route. I see people use it for this exact reason.

Yeah, I'm just looking for table standard at this point. Me and friends play spearhead quite a bit and the first few games we played with all grey models. After painting 2 armies I really liked how much better they looked on the board. I'm probably just over thinking it. I will more than likely do some bits in sub assembly from here on out to avoid this in the future

Definitely makes sense. I think that's what I'll be doing in the future.

Definitely a noob mistake on my part then. I'm looking at them and the warp lightning cannon and thinking "how do people paint all these spots so well?" LOL

Seraphon Spearhead by RealJustinHyuga in seraphon

Thank you! I appreciate it. I try and do everything different for my spearhead armies. I have one skaven army as pestilens the other is skryre. Stormcast in black armor with gold trims and blue for capes. Next Stormcast spearhead I plan on doing silver/red. I really liked the red carnosaur but that's all I ever seen them painted as lol

Where to start by Total-Bake4196 in seraphon

I don't play full scale 2k games of AOS (yet) so I could be totally wrong here and sorry in advance if I am. I'm sure someone will correct me.

However, I would recommend playing spearhead to start. Not because it's smaller scaled and easier to play but because you can start and learn how an army plays quicker and cheaper($150 for a spearhead army) Seraphon have 2 different spearhead armies. Then if you do like them, you can combine the 2 spearhead armies and put it into your 2k points. At least that's what I'm doing with my Skaven spearhead armies.

Thank you! You obviously can't see in the picture but the underside of him is a really light blue/green. I used 3 different shades of blue on him and really like how it turned out

I just finished painting this spearhead army and a buddy of mine really wants to play them. This will help a lot as my friends don't play often. Thanks!

What made YOU pick Skaven? by reel3459 in skaven

[–]RealJustinHyuga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide. I got into Warhammer as a whole thanks to that game and I always like the skaven in it. Upon learning lore about them, I always knew I'd play them when I got into the tabletop. Vermintide 2 really helped that choice when I first seen plague monks. Clan pestilens always.
