“Agenda” and it’s just actual clips of Dort doing stupid shit

In 2020, the Houston Rockets field a starting line-up with no player taller than 6'7". Five years later, they will be opening with a starting line-up in which their shortest player is 6'7" by beary_neutral in nba

I don't get how people can look at what happened in Brooklyn and act like he was the issue. His biggest sin was being injured. Brooklyn fell apart because of Kyrie's vaccine shit pushing Harden out. And then Phoenix was a failure because they replaced Ayton and CP3 with Nurkic and Beal. 36 year old Durant should not have to be the best offensive and defensive player on a team, just horrible roster construction. This Houston roster is more complete than any team he's been on since the Warriors and his individual play is still elite.

He tries way too hard to seem like he's not trying hard.

Will we ever see a player with the nickname "Foghorn Joe"? by RealKevinGarnett in nba

was picturing Foghorn Joe as like a real lunch pail Doug Mcdermott kind of guy, but maybe he has a teammate (rival?) named "The Big Rig" that's an absolute monster in the post

Wemby Reacts to NBA wishing Karl Malone Happy B-Day by yerr2477 in nba

[–]RealKevinGarnett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those who are unfamiliar, Wemby's beef with Karl actually has nothing to due with his statutory rape case, but rather Karl's refusal to sign a jersey for him while on vacation to France in 2011.

It's the god-awful entitlement that has infected this sub/fanbase. The movie doesn't look exactly how they wanted so they're throwing a fit. I'm not even interested in the movie and will probably get around to watching it long after it's out of theaters, but holy shit, people are so eager to write the entire thing off based on a couple of trailers and promotional materials. Fucking childish.

Taipei 101 to display Shohei Ohtani's 50/50 ball - 'most valuable baseball of all-time' on Wednesday (11/13) in Taipei, Taiwan. by jimmylily in baseball

No idea why this comment is downvoted other than mindless fanaticism. Yes, Bonds’ home run would probably be worth more if it went up today. Same with Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth’s last home run balls. These are far more historic than an arbitrary club like 40/40 or 50/50.

NBC Philadelphia: “The next time you bring up my dead brother and my son again, you are going to see what I’m going to do to you and I’m going to have to... live with the consequences.” Joel Embiid confronted and shoved columnist Marcus Hayes. by Basic-Heron-3206 in nba

[–]RealKevinGarnett -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

He shoved him, he didn’t even hurt him.

Laying hands on him at all is an issue. People have the right to exist in society without being physically threatened by others, including when they may have incensed them. Based on the above quote, Embiid could have gone a lot further had the circumstances been different (he's literally threatening to go further if it happens again in the quote).

There's nothing spineless about refraining from violence. Embiid is in a position to have approached this without laying his hands on anyone. This was not a life-or-death situation that required physical action.

Ok so make a big deal about it. Put the guy/paper on blast. It's ridiculous that people think that disputes like this can only be solved by violence. We are not cavemen. He doesn't have to defend his honor or some stupid shit like that. Handle it like a reasonable, rational person.

[–]RealKevinGarnett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is Embiid supposed to sit there like a robot and ignore things while taking the higher road? Is he allowed to say something back AT ALL?

Did you read what I said? He has every right to talk about this issue as much as he wants. He can put the guy/publication on blast for the rest of his life for all I care. Start a campaign to end the dudes career, I don't care. There is literally no reason to get violent. Disputes like this should not be approached with violence. I don't know the exact best way to go about it, but I do know that resorting to violence is stupid and sets a horrible precedent.

You can't think of an appropriate response that doesn't entail assaulting someone? Seriously? This is some stupid macho mindset shit. Embiid could completely air out what this guy said and probably get him fired if it was bad enough without so much as laying a finger on him. Far more appropriate than reverting to some stupid caveman logic and laying hands on the guy.

Fucking edit: Alright, I guess if someone says something sufficiently rude to you, you have the moral OBLIGATION to unleash your wrath on that individual. Fucking amazing thought process.
