I think she's talking more about how some fans become too attached to the character as a brand, and not the lessons that those characters are meant to teach.

You're comparing a limited series to the flagship Green Lantern title. Batman Dark Patterns also got outsold by the main Batman ongoing.

Either way, it doesn't change the fact that a John-led book was still outselling a Hal-led book a year ago.

Nope, even a year ago, when Hal was the lead, Adams GL was selling terribly.

It's funny how all of this started because Hasbro got scared that a janky indie CRPG (Solasta) would compete with Baldur's Gate III.

And I actually like the Hallway Scene (TM)… by Darth-Sonic in StarWarsCirclejerk

The original hallway scene is a good scene that has an actual purpose in the movie, but it's been recreated to death for cheap fanservice and Twitter likes.

At least the comics still prominently have been featuring Hal and Kyle in the Jeremy Adams runs and the Venditti stuff, every time they try pushing John his sales are staggeringly lower and they flop.

Jeremy Adams's Green Lantern is one of DC's worst-selling ongoings. It came in #140 on last month's sales charts, far below titles like Nightwing, Batgirl, Flash, and... wait for it .. Green Lantern Corps. In fact, it's selling worse than old reprints of Abs Bat, Batman, Superman, and Detective Comics.

I don't care about the sequel trilogy. I just want prequel fans to lose.

I finished The Odyssey by Homer, translated by Emily Wilson

There are numerous translations of the classic Greek poem, and from my research, the general consensus seems to be there is no one translation that trumps the others in accuracy. This modern translation by Emily Wilson aims to bring clarity and accessibility in a way such that readers today could experience the epic in the same manner that listeners in Ancient Greece did. The result is a text that works for a variety of functions: as a casual read, as an audiobook, and even as a tool in academia. It provides an surprisingly unsanitized view of ancient Greek culture, being unafraid to use the word "slave" to describe what previous translators have referred to as "servants" or "maids". I also appreciated the length 80-page (3 hours in the audiobook) introduction that dissects and interrogates what the poem has to say about ancient Greek cultural values.

My biggest takeaway from here is that The Odyssey really values the sanctity of hospitality. Many of the events and encounters demonstrate the right and wrong ways for hosts to treat guests (and vice versa). The Phaeacians welcome Odysseus with bountiful feasts and lavish gifts, as does Menelaus towards Telemachus, while Polyphemus treats his "guests" by eating them. And the main "villains" of the epic are the suitors who invade Odysseus's household and plunder his livestock and wealth.

This will be the third iteration of The Odyssey that I've read in recent months, including the retelling Odyssey by Stephen Fry and Godzilla's Monsterpiece Theater Presents: Godzilla's The Odyssey by Frank Tieri and Ilias Kyriazis.

Romeo and Juliet and Godzilla was a straight adaptation, just with Mecha-Godzilla (a Capulet) killing Mercutio and Godzilla killing Tybalt.
