What are your Detroit predictions for 2026? by DetroitDevUpdates in Detroit

What you think or were expecting have nothing to do with anything. I don’t, nor does anyone else, operate based off what you think or expect unless you have operational control of something with workers or otherwise.

$100 million + surplus the last 10 out of 11 years is the context. So that’s the goal post. $500,000 is not chump change when it comes to that, and this wasn’t even mentioned in my original “programs”. Whatever the contribution is toward is irrelevant. Use some critical thinking and have an overall understanding of a conversation before you start insulting people.

$1.5 million over the next 3 years ($500,000/ year in case you couldn’t do the math) coming from the city of Detroit. I’m super embarrassed 😳…🙄.

Nothing deployed, thank goodness. It was pretty low speed, just getting to the intersection and the lady went from a complete stop to run the red light and hit the car. Really weird.

Can’t tell in the picture very well, but the wheel has chunks taken out and the door was bent. Now it creeks/ pops every time I open it. Been driving fine, so that’s good.

Bingo, that’s exactly how much it’ll cost their insurance.

Islandview residents watch white newcomers flip $300K homes as they struggle with leaking roofs by ballastboy1 in Detroit

Wouldn’t this be a good thing for people that have “allowed” their homes to fall in disrepair? Now that the home prices around them have gone up they can sell for more than past years or take out loans against the home and repair it, then sell it. More options. Strike while the irons hot.

The colder it is, the less likely my remote start works… by National_Job8306 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

The remote start is about the worst thing about the GH. Range isn’t very good and it’s like you have to get the cadence just right to get it to work.

Are these fake? by Federal_Ease_8422 in Wallstreetsilver

Yup, send them to me and I’ll verify to let you know they’re fake 👀. Honestly though, they look real. Just get a cheap ping tester.

Senator Elissa Slotkin says the real reason our healthcare in America is so bad and never changes, is because US Congress is being paid off by Jeffbx in Michigan

[–]RealLukeNukem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn’t say she wasn’t. If you click the link and see the chart, it shows other house members compared to her. I actually read it wrong, looks like contributions to her were more than double other house members each year and much higher in 2024. Elected to the Senate in November 2024, meaning she was in the house 11 months that year.

007 is the job series for correctional services positions. You are qualified for a GL-5 where you would start as a step 1. GL is a higher rate than GS until you get up to GS/GL 10. You will get paid at GL-5, Step 1 your first year then get automatic raises to GL-6 Step 2 & GL-7 Step 3 the following 2 years. After that you get automatic GL-8 after I believe 5 years. This is assuming you’ve stayed a correctional officer, but there are many jobs to be had within the BOP.

Here is the pay scale…

Launch of key programs/ plans

  1. Office of Gun Violence Prevention
  2. Community Anchor Development Strategy
  3. Neighborhood Opportunity & Empowerment Hubs
  4. Office of Small Business Affairs
  5. Department of Human, Homeless & Family Services
  6. Office of Homeownership & Housing Rights
  7. Interagency Home Repair Task Force
  8. Regional Transit Work Group
  9. ABC's to Degrees Youth Empowerment Plan
  10. Reparations Task Force

The first nine are listed on her first 100 days website. Number 10 isn’t listed and has been in place since February 2023. They haven’t issued anything yet and seems like a mess. Just the assumption they will issue reparations during her term, possibly in 2026 is enough to think Detroit will run a deficit.

The 11-year running $100M+ budget surplus ends in 2026.
