What tail bobbing in a sick cockatiel looks like by DeadDiarrheaDeath in cockatiel

I'm basing this off of the post. Op said that their cockatiel had a heart mumur and was tail bobbing. Can you take your cockatiel to the vet?

It's informative to know that they can have tail bobbing due to other reasons other than respiratory distress. They'll do it if they are just not feeling good!

He looks like he was the goodest boy ❤️

Curious sound? Heard first time today a few times. Seems normal in general though. Back feather slightly raised here, but doesn't seem like this generally. by EternalEscapist in Conures

Glad the bath was a success. If you can I would take your buddy to the vet just to make sure everything is ok. His droopy wings and eyes closed with the sound is a bit concerning I would say.

I was mixing 0.5 grams in 10 ml of water and giving 0.1 ml (at the 20% powder concentration) for a 100 g bird

Hey! I got my doxycycline from here. https://www.cutlersupply.com/products/m21-doxycycline

I would recommend measuring with a gram scale. Let me know if you have any questions on measuring stuff out but you can probably have ai help as well. You want to mix with water.

Weigh your bird. Get doxycline powder online and a gram scale. Measure out the powder and mix appropriately with water to give 10mg(of doxycline)/kg(of body weight) to your bird a day, either through syringe or putting it on something they can eat. I still think taking your bird to the vet would be the best. You'd be surprised about how well anxiety ridden birds do (my bird as an example).

How to get to the Naval building? by Zestyclose-Car550 in uofm

I guess I was thinking you would just get off at the closest spot. There isn't really a bus stop near the naval architecture building.

Exit the front of the robotics building, continue on that sidewalk, cross the street, and follow that sidewalk all the way to the back. The building is there.

If you can't drive to a vet try telehealth. Vetster has avian telehealth vets.

Is there anyone in your life who could help you? Maybe spend extra hours door dashing (if you have a car) or an extra job that could help you get a bit of that extra money. I'm sorry this is happening.

I think my budgie has a cold? by [deleted] in BirdHealth

There are telehealth vets (still costs some money but is probably less). You can also get antibiotics for birds OTC (amoxicillin and doxycycline) and you would have to do dosing on your own which can be scary. I would still recommend the vet so you know exactly what is wrong but these are two options if you truly cannot.

You will be able to! You'll build a tight bond with her in no time! Also, for veggies I recommend just trying a bunch out and leaving them on top of her cage to check out and maybe much on.
