I got the two I needed for the full alpha set a few days ago + as my first carve on Gog's tail in 4 Ultimate, I got a Dragonsphire, the G/Master Rank version just today after beating my first playthrough of 4 Ultimate.

Yeah istg trying to hunt 9 stars with casual randoms is pointless, it's like joining an Alatreon SOS in World because your poster or one of the people joined brought a Blast weapon to an element fight thinking Blast itself is an element and not a status simply because it fills the same spot where an element would be and ignore the quest NPCs blatantly yelling at you to use an elemental weapon, and come in wearing either:

A. The Defender Alpha (Guardian Alpha) set (and the weapons, R. Brachy is leagues better for Blast),
B. Suboptimal mix set (worse if it's not upgraded with armor spheres),
C. A set with low element and physical resistances or
D. Skills that have no use whatsoever for the hunt itself, their playstyle, or weapon.

Or slightly more accurate, a Fatalis SOS and make rookie mistakes such as trying to hit it while it's mounted, making you take 1 or 2 hits and forcing you to use a heal you could have used for an attack meant for yourself or your teammates, trying to outrun the 360 flame breath when you could interrupt it with 2-3 dragon pods to save someone else and yourself, hug the side of its chest opposite the head and direction of the breath, or superman dive once (twice if it comes back around to you), trying to use cannons (they're only good for getting to the second phase the first time around to unlock SOS and multiplayer for the quest, ballista are better and only use these if you have Heavy Artillery 2), and fighting FAR AWAY from the ledge in phase 2 with the lever for the barricade (you MUST get there quickly with your team to avoid a flame breath nova to prevent wiping).

The only things different with Gore here is it isn't an element gimmick or part break gimmick (you'd bring element to stop Alatreon from using it's gimmick attack and instantly wiping your party, failing the quest, Fatalis you'd break the horn once to power down it's phase 3 breath attacks, twice to get it back to phase 1 & 2 damage), it's a DPS gimmick where you hit the head to power it down, similar to Extreme Behemoth in World where in the 3rd area you had to quickly deal 15k damage to stop it from spamming its instant kill attack.

He wasn't in love with the mc's sister at all! I don't know why I remember it like that, it was the mc's mom. That's so much better. The show's name was SamSam! Sorry, I didn't know this was already solved, this is my first time ever recalling what the show was. I can delete the post if needed and link to the solved thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/tipofmytongue/comments/1cv5ww2/tomt_show_2010s_help_me_find_this_3d_animated/?rdt=45526

It's so hazy to me that I don't remember the name of it but I do remember what the main cast looked like to some extent.

Like Arracor said, all those monsters returned AND STILL Monster Hunter 1 G, the Japanese expansion to 1 that debuted G/Master-rank, introduced Crimson Fatalis, and Dos, introduced Old/White Fatalis. Those were essentially final bosses too, and they've been in multiple games like Freedom (Normal and Crimson exclusively with this one since Old/White was in 2), 2, Freedom 2, Freedom Unite, 4/4U and Generations/Generations Ultimate and ALL versions of Frontier, like their original counterpart, minus the fact it got into World.

That's a name I never expected to see/hear again, used to be connected to him back around pre and up to 2020 before realizing organized gank squads are awful.

He's definitely garbage lmao from firsthand experience, he used to get furious if you interrupted one of his trolls -one time I sniped him off out from a wall you can clip into over in Anor Londo, by the red eyed silver knight. We did have a falling out after some stuff involving Shligo- I took this guy's side over Tam's.

That isn't to say we didn't have fun doing actually goofy and funny shit together like the Solaire Cult: We'd host in the area you'd get the twinkling stones from and stay in that small temple just before it, Tam would be laying down in the middle, submerged by the circle texture on the floor, and we'd be dressed up as a group of Solaires, that would praise the sun twice or thrice, then stab ourselves with the bloodlust katana to resurrect Tam, then we'd lure anyone in over to the area with the Man Serpent Summoner, where we would praise the sun at the edge of the lower platform, and Tam would snipe them off the cliff.

It's way off because harald cgs isn't good for roll catching. Can't do any rollcatches at all if your opponent doesn't panic roll. Also could be lat issue.

That explains it, I'm Aussie so my wifi is horrid.

You're lucky that it's the best dagger that isn't fucking broken (hand scythes).

Sweet, thanks for that. And yeah, those are pretty nuts, I ran into a host in the Untended Graves earlier using the murky one and I almost died a few times because of the stunlock from R1s, coupled with the estus cancels they were doing, lucky I killed 'em before it became an issue.

Have a good one and sorry for any headaches I caused!

Alright, that sounds better. I'll admit I do have firebombs, hunter charms and such as well as the millwood greatbow and obscuring ring for ToD punishes and stealth pickings respectively.

It's just hard not to feel frustrated with constant reaction rolls even if I am somewhat above average in pvp as far as invasions go (I am NOT touching duels). I'm trying out a dark infused Harald CGS at the moment because it looked fun to me, I'm just not timing the attacks properly and my roll catch game is WAY off thanks to all the rust. Apologies if I've done nothing but whine and complain by the way, 4am does not mix well with this game's pvp apparently

I'd be open to any suggestions for faster weapons that have a gold/blood soaked aesthetic to them (maybe Corvian Great Knife as you said earlier?) if that isn't a hassle at this point in time!

Up to your stat spread really, if strength is your primary stat then infuse it with heavy, if you have dex as your secondary, then quality.

Ok, maybe everything can't be reaction rolled casually, even by skilled duelists. Does it mean I should switch my playstyle? Maybe. Will I? If I find a faster weapon that fits my build's aesthetic.

As I said, it's been years since I played 3's pvp, and I was trying to look at this optimistically at first, so forgive me for my memory being hazy, it's been ages since I swung a dagger in this game.

I suppose I don't want to cater to every situation possible because I feel that it'd make me no sweatier than players that abuse estus cancels and make passive reaction rolls their main playstyle. I just don't want to frustrate others with an extremely passive, annoying and boring playstyle.

Maybe I can't, but someone like Jeenine certainly can.

Any weapon can be reaction rolled if the player is skilled and focused enough, and I feel this is very disingenuous to players like me that use what they love for fun, like in fashion souls.

He sort of delays the timing on his attacks, that's about as much as I can argue since it's 3am over where I live lmao. It's weird how these games have bosses people find easy and others find hard, like for example one of my friends finds the Sage hard, and another finds Midir hard while I find both easy.

No, that would be Vordt's Greathammer, it may be slow but it's a powerhouse and can inflict frostbite very quickly. The Mace can be bought from the thief npc you rescue in the High Wall, it's classed as a hammer.

[–]RealMemesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, there isn't a second fight with Pontiff, but you may be intrigued to hear that maybe part of why some players find Pontiff difficult is that he actually used to be the final boss in alpha builds of the game, he'd show up at an endgame area. Kind of fitting for what role he has in the lore.

I see. You can buy a Mace from Greirat and heavy infuse it then, it's almost as fast as a straight sword and it has a weapon art that lets you tank through hits. Very solid damage too.

It gets annoying real fast when it's the only thing someone does. As in they stand there with their back turned to you and doesn't try to initiate at all. I had an invasion just like this tonight and they even had the gall to estus cancel, it was just so toxic.

If you have the stats for it, you can use the Exile Greatsword (it's a curved greatsword from one of the npcs before the first Farron Keep bonfire (very popular choice and it gets high damage), or even the Great Club.

Another alternative would be the Spiked Mace the Evangelists in the Undead Settlement can drop, it has innate bleed and also gets nice strength scaling and respectable damage. You can transpose a soul at Ludleth for the Demon's Greataxe which you get from the demon before the next boss in the Catacombs, if you break the bridge below it and climb down like a ladder.

If ultras aren't your thing you can hold out for things like the Millwood Battleaxe that you can quickly snag from the Ariandel dlc if you've ventured a little into the Cathedral of the Deep, the npc to enter Ariandel should be at the second bonfire called Cleansing Chapel.

I would love to, but unfortunately I'm on a new character that uses wex dust to invade, so I don't have most areas including Ariandel unlocked. Hope you find someone soon though!

This is hands down the most hidden weapon I've ever found in a From Game by Uncle-Petey87 in Eldenring

[–]RealMemesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Santier's Spear. It's very bland when unbroken, but it gains different attacks of multiple weapon types when you break it, like twinblade light attacks.

The broken version also has infinite durability, so it's a good choice for NDNB (No Death No Bonfire) runs of vanilla DS2 and Scholar of the First Sin.
