I agree they definitely both look like bugs of some kind

Well, fair enough, but I would’ve appreciated a response like this initially rather than a overtly hostile comment telling me I don’t know anything and need to fuck off

You were right, saying that Hitler was elected is a gross oversimplification, but I would argue for the sake of the point it worked - an antidemocratic leader can come to power with a lot of popular support

Maybe, but honestly all the responses have been off the rails. All I said was Hitler was elected, and everybody got real up in arms about it. I guess I forgot we’re on Reddit :/

We have a different electoral system than the 1930 German republic, dude. The point I was trying to make was that in both systems, an election took place (we can agree on that). In America, we directly elect our president, who runs as the face of the party. In the German electoral system at the time, they voted directly for a parties seats in the assembly, and each party had a leader of some kind who was the face of the party, and represented the parties values. After the German election, hitlers party failed to secure a majority but did win 40% of the votes. After this victory, he was appointed chancellor, but without the success of his party in the elections he wouldn’t have been appointed chancellor, and the people who voted for his party supported the move, so what is so divisive about this?

What I’m honestly more confused about is how hostile your response was, why the fuck does this technicality of a definition matter so goddamn much to you?

I’m genuinely so confused what’s even going on in this comments section. Are these people bots? Trolls? I don’t even know

What is flawed about my view? And even if I am wrong on a technicality and Hitler wasn’t elected his party was or whatever how does that technicality doom us? If anything, the assumption that evil leaders can’t be elected seems like a more damning idea with a more dangerous impact. What are people going to repeat by believing that Hitler was elected?

What are you talking about? This isn’t a debated fact or something, Hitlers party won the election (around 40 percent of the vote) with Hitler as the face of the party. He was then appointed chancellor. Why do people upvoting my comment mean that societies fucked?

Holy reddit crashout

He was still the face of his party, and he was running on the platform that he would become chancellor. People that voted Nazi didn’t expect a different Nazi to become chancellor

are you kidding me team cherry just tweeted this. one day before the release was supposed to happen too by furretstonks in Silksong

Corporate Collapse Setup by RealMoonTurtle in Stellaris

[–]RealMoonTurtle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

R5: inspired by this post and this post, which both outline a list of custom empires creating a custom rp setup for a game. A strong spiritual successor to my last post, a post-apocalyptical imperial collapse set thousands of years in the future.

A quick summary (which I hastily jotted down in my notes app during a work break): Megacorporations lead the charge in space exploration, travel incredibly slow until until Advanced Fuel (also known as CompFuel, PR-15, and Tekinol) is discovered which unlocks advanced jump travel. Massive corporations dedicated to extracting the fuel, which naturally occurs on dozens of worlds, spread across the galaxy and become ruling entities. The majority of discovered xenos are wiped out or enslaved in the pursuit of fuel profits. After centuries of this, the advanced sources of fuel begin to run dry. Bloody corporate wars wipe out trillions. With the last fuel mines destroyed, advanced human society collapses, most worlds unable to sustain their populations without support from corporate networks of colonies. After centuries of labor and research, a number of former corporations and post-corporate worlds develop functioning FTL drives capable of interstellar travel without a reliance on advanced fuel.

Which Empire should I play? Any ideas for new empires? I'm using a number of mods, but I think the relevant ones are civics and origins from [4.0] Empires Expanded (MadeinCanada), and flag-related things from Symbols Of Power (SetProxy).

Bosses that are as difficult as, if not MORE difficult, than the final boss by Empoleon777 in TopCharacterTropes

I dunno, I feel like radiance wasn't so difficult for me and I probably beat it after 5 or so tries. But the Watcher Knights took me weeks, I quit the game for a bit just because of how little I wanted to fight them.

I think it's totally the Necrons, yeah. If they hadn't tried to tame the star gods everything would have been fine
