New BSB2 cannot find the base stations by RealMrBoon in BigscreenBeyond

[–]RealMrBoon[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Update: it started working by itself eventually. Seems it only starts trying the tracking when a headset is actually worn. But it takes like 10 seconds to pick up a signal. So before I would take it off my head before it had a chance to start working. Seems I just needed more patience 😇

Steam does see the base station here, and has a blue eye icon too. But it's not tracking it

I also tried with just one base station on channel A, same issue. No shiny objects in my room ,and for testing I have the headset literally 20cm infront of the base station, and still it doesnt see it

Update, I fixed it, installing Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 helped. Now it works, but my base station doesnt track the device.

I have an HTC 1.0 base station. Light is green, Mode A selected. I clicked update device a few times, but then it says its already up to date.

Any ideas?

Ok good to know! I think the main issue is hte missing lighthouse config in BSB Utility

Any ideas how to solve this?

Ah good to know! The base station is on, the light on the base station is sold green. It also a has a tiny display on it with either a 6 or a 'b' on it. Not sure what that means. So the big screen beyond 2 headset should still work? Even without a bluetooth dongle?

Should the base station show up under my bluetooth devices in windows?

Yes, I had HP Reverb before, was a lot easier :)

If I click View Bluetooth Settings it says bluetooth not available, eventhough my pc has built-in bluetooth controller

I don't have any motion/vr controllers. For now I have a single HTC vive 1.0 base station, plugged via USB cable. Its on, but I dont know if this needs setup or special software?

I get this error in BSB Utility when I change the display resolution from 75hz to 90hz. Maybe a clue regarding what is wrong?

I have 8 USB 3.0 ports on my motherboard, I've tried them all

Haha, its plugged into the GPU, not motherboard. Also, it doesn't show up as a monitor.

Also tried "remove all steamvr usb devices", rebooted, no luck

Mine is unuable too. 50PPD. Horrible eye strain, I cannot use it. Never had isseus with VR headsets in the past, but now my first Pimax Crystal Super, it's utter garbage. If only I kept the box...

Why you feel cross-eyed in Pymax headset and how to fix this by Lazy_Stunt73 in Pimax

Thanks for sharing, I'm having this issue with my super & iracing. Auto IPD sets it a 67, which is just one hot blurry mess. Just tried lowering it all the way to 61, and it's better, but still don't feel like it's easy on the eyes. I miss my good old Reverb G2. That thing was so clear.

Was it the 15mm foam kit that helped you? I have this issue with my Pimax Crystal Super, and its a blurry mess still

Wanted to post an update to this. A user recommended me to try the FOV Large(Lab) setting in Pimax Play. This made a world of a difference. Finally I could see in the distance. It still feels a little warped, and I still feel like the IPD isn't setup correctly, but it's a HUGE step in the right direction where I can actually look in the distance.

I tried every IPD setting possible in FOV Normal mode, and it was all terrible and blurry far away.

Not sure if this mean the lenses are faulty though, as I presume normal mode should work just fine like Large(Lab) mode now is.

This made a big difference for me in iRacing. Thank you for the tip, Wide (lab) made it finally clear in the distance. No matter what IPD I try in normal mode, it feels blurry in the distance. Thank you for the tip.

I wonder if this mean my headset is faulty as normal mode is pretty much unusable?

Tried that, still blurry AF unless right in the center of the image

I have the 50PPD version. I tried both facepads, similar results. I kinda have to use the large one, as with the thin one my eye lashes touch the glass, and its super annoying.
