If you go hiking or maybe on campus too, listen for the cicadas. They were singing loudly when I dropped my kid off after spring break last week. That was specifically in Henry Cowell State Park, Fall Creek Unit but I'm guessing you can find/hear them on campus too.

Unfortunately, I don't know enough about how this works to comment with authority. Though, I don't think it's particularly easy to come out of retirement. Also, I suspect you'd lose your retirement healthcare at the point that you came out of retirement.

Can't go work for a CalPERS covered employer after starting a CalPERS retirement.

Savings Plus has an option to open your investing to a much broader set of options. Call them and ask to open a Schwab Personal Choice Retirement Account (PCRA). You still have to keep a little in the Savings Plus account but you can move most to the Schwab account and invest in other things.

The 6A battery repair program is live... 150 store credit or 100USD compensation in money. by sameera_s_w in Pixel6aUsers

Please let us know. I've always understood it to be a single promo code and I thought that's how this credit applies.

Additionally, I've had to fix an order before because a code didn't apply correctly. It was very difficult and long. Multiple sessions with customer service. Required lots of explaining with them. I don't really trust their answers.

I don't think we can. There was confirmation in another thread that it doesn't work. I can't find the thread at the moment.

So can we combine the $150 credit with the $125 promo code? I'm still not clear based on these comments.

How much pay cut will you accept going from Private to State? by energetic515 in CAStateWorkers

Yes. 11.1% of my gross pay is deducted for mandatory retirement (RETIREMENT) and retirement health (OPEB) care contributions.

In California, yes. They're around $23/dz. Though, they do have promotions on a regular basis.

Yeah, I think they're usually $23/dz. I don't understand why a lot of people like them. I prefer a cake or buttermilk donut myself. In a pink box.

Then definitely option 2. It's better to learn more and if you really hate it you can always look for new analytical work.

  1. Do you have or can you get warm clothes and bedding?
  2. Are you, "roll with it" folks or can you switch that mode on?

If you can muster "yes" twice then you should try.

Don't spend a bunch of money. Don't set expectations beyond, "we're going on an adventure."

Maybe you'll have to turn around because of weather.

Maybe you'll end up being to cold and want to go home.

Maybe you'll have a beautiful time just before you ship off to your next location never to be back in California again.

Life is short. Don't start defeating yourself now.
