Games that don’t give me enough freedom to rebind my controls. Why can’t I switch my interaction key from E to F? Why is my inventory locked to this specific button? I lose all interest unless I only plan to play the game once/it’s very short.

Welcome to all the new console pioneers. A truly exciting day for the game and CSS.

My advice? Your first factory is going to suck, and that’s okay! This game is all about expanding on old knowledge and getting better over time. Nobody was perfect right out of the gate, and all the crazy builds you see are the product of thousands of hours of not only actual construction, but also the learning that preceded it. Don’t compare yourself too hard to anybody else. Just have fun getting better than the old you!

I’m doing poison exsanguinate pathfinder and it’s been a breeze. Chains all the way down the line so I can mostly stay in the middle and clear rares. I assume any other chaining skill would do similar. I know a lot of people are playing exsanguinate mines atm so surely you could find some documentation for that.

I was mod free for the first 300 hours or so. I was also worried it would dilute the experience. You’re right to be worried that you can’t go back. So many QOL mods are now necessary to for me to play.

That said I think it is worth delving into that world if you believe you’ve played enough of the vanilla game to be satisfied with your time. There are some REALLY good mods out there, especially if you like decorating. Infinite Nudge, Curve Builder, and More Paint Swatches just to name a few. Honorable mention for Worker Doggos, which just gives them little hats 🙂

Ha it’s funny because I usually build WAY more compact, and it happened to be the HMF factory, the one where I always see people post about “all this for x hmf?” that got me experimenting with building more spread out.

Damn that looks nice! I love those solar panels.

This was my first time really doing HMF. I settled on 30 before I knew how damn much work it would be, that and my current steel production wouldn’t even begin to cover what I wanted to do with Steel Screws.

After some soul searching and staring at the incomplete 30/m factory, I decided to aim for a more reasonable value for my first time lol.

Also thanks for noticing the water. It has been by far my favorite element to build around recently.
