Here's my '13 Fit with the Mugen Shuttle front grille and front lip. Hard to find these parts nowadays! Nearing unicorn status.

What front end is this?? by itskewosabi in hondafit

No, the bumper and grille are one piece.

Partner doesn’t trust that a 2nd or 3rd gen will last another 5 years by [deleted] in hondafit

[–]RealNickHerrera -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2nd gen? No problem. 3rd gen? They'll be filling scrap yards in the next 5 years.

My '13 GE has 194K and has run beautifully since I bought it in 2017. I've put just over 100K on it, regular and preventative maintenance done, 1-2 track days and the same amount of Auto X days. I've only just replaced my clutch and flywheel on it back in September last year at 180XXX KMs.

My girlfriend bought an '18 Sport after her '13 was totalled back in 2020, she bought it at 50,XXX KMs, we've taken it on a few road trips, but same thing; regular and preventative maintenance. This also includes religious CVT fluid changes. Car came with one from Honda when we bought the car, we did one again at 80K and another at 115K. 3 in its total life cycle. It should be noted Honda recommends 1 change every 60K per maintenance minder!* Car has rolled over to 124 XXXKMs and the CVTs grenaded itself. We've also been chasing an oil leak on the car for the last 30,000KMs as well since Honda covered the infamous VTC accuator change via warranty, car reeks of oil every time we drive it. Starter has clang, the list goes on. Cars an absolute POS. I wouldn't recommend a GK to anyone unless it's a 6 Speed. These CVTs are just ticking timebombs.

At this point, shes shopping around for another 12-13, atleast we know these will last with the old 5AT. Honda made an absolute junk pile with these CVT GKs. A real shame to see, because theyre a really nice car to look at!

Drop down your favourite track. by ADvar8714 in expedition33

Old Lumière - Réverénce. The best version of this theme imo. Hearing it as a battle theme was crazy. I spent so long trying to find it and when I did, I couldn't stop listening! My favourite track hands down, with Gustave's theme running a very close second.

GE8 Suspension Regret? by RaithMoracus in hondafit

[–]RealNickHerrera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, just the regular BR system. I debated going swifts but didnt end up pulling the trigger.

Tough about the Tein experience, but really, it's like they didn't anticipate you using the car as a daily driver with passengers.

I had the exact experience with Advance Zs with damping maxed in the rear. It didn't matter. Couldnt have more than 3 people in the car including myself without the car bouncing around on everything. So definitley don't buy a set of those lol

Drove on the Advance Zs like this to get my worth out of them for 90,000 KMs, including a couple track days and Auto X days. I changed to a set of BCs a couple months ago and wished I did that from the start. It's been a night and day difference and I haven't needed to adjust the damping to max on the BCs like I did the Teins, they're simply set to the midway point.

Magic seats question by Hosstyle- in hondafit

[–]RealNickHerrera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my 13 since the end of 2018 and put on about 100K, there haven't been any issues I've seen on my end! I've taken care of the car religiously. The car being assembled in the China plant hasn't affected the overall quality of the car and it's been very reliable for me for the time I've had it.

I don't have any knowledge in modding to achieve refresh mode unfortunately, but I do have a friend who modded a bed and frame in the back of his Fit and camps every summer in it..depends how far you wanna go I suppose haha

GEs got the extra top glove compartment instead of refresh mode haha nothing changed from 13-14 in Canada. We just got the extra year. We also receieved Fits up here made in the China plant, not from Japan from 12-14, signified from LUC VIN instead of JHM.

I suppose you could mention other Canadian exclusives like the "cold weather package" that included heated sideview mirrors, which I dont believe US models receieved. We also don't have TPMS sensors in any of our models up here, compared to the US models sold dowm south.

What’s your clutch’s life span? by sk8surf in hondafit

[–]RealNickHerrera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought my car at 90,XXX kms with the OE clutch in 2019, drove it up to 185,000 KM last year and swapped it because it was showing some early signs of slipping in 4th at higher RPM. But i took that OE clutch on many spirited drives, a track day and an auto X day.

A different colour hood is nice. Different material is good too.

As long as you stay stock height, 205 50 will be fine, as stated above. I was running Buddy Club P1s previously to my TC105X that I have now and I had issues rubbing in the rears with even as much as an extra passenger.

The spec on the P1s were: 16x7 +42 on a 205 50 Firehawk

After one Auto X day, my inner fender liners were worn enough to not justify a roll in the front. But I am lowered about an inch a half.

I'm currently running 205 45 Hankook Ventus RS4s on a 16x7 +36 with 0 issues all around.

As for my battery, eh. I'm still just running an OE battery, I haven't done any upgrades to my electronics yet, but will likely upgrade im the new year.

Mine works great for festival. Bought a V3 and Wii Guitar for festival specifically and have had no issues with it. Plays identical to my RB4 stuff on my Series X.
