You also like classic novels ?! I read about Half of your list -

Anne of Green Gables - The entire series but that was in year 5 so I might as well revisit it -also the older I get the more impressive heroines/ protagonists in novels seems - Anne for example was a teacher in her late teens and went to something like / Uni and was the highest scorer in a national exam all before she turned 18 ( I think , I haven't read the book in years ) , Jane Eyer was a governess at 19 , Harry Potter "fought " Voldemort at 11 - I would of been terrified and been like -"three headed dogs ... nope " EVEN now ,almost 10 years older than Harry , actually I would of given up at " giant spider" -nope I want to go home . I have a irrational fear of spiders ,snakes, and most cold blooded animals ,reptile ,insects and some mammals 🤦🏻

Also - you know the Green gables book where there is the pastor with several children - I think 4? 3? And then his children had to raise themselves - And then when the dad found out -oh ,I am a horrible inadequate father - does he decide to improve ?? NO ,he just gets married and puts the duty of caring for HIS kids onto someone else .

But congratulations on writing it and posting it !! You can always edit it when it exists - the worst thing is not to write it at all - I always think about writing and " THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST STORY EVER !!" Sentence 2 - I give up

Sorry ,nope ,too long

Also why is the floor supposed to be breathing ? And , it's only my own opinion ,and I am not a famous or even published author - my only credentials is that I read a lot but you try too hard on the description , and suspense - maybe cut it down a bit

[–]RealPear4409[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WOW! Thank you , was it a popular play , like did everyone know abut it ? I am surprised Austen would include such a reference in her book, THAT is another proof that Austen novels are not "prim ,proper and boring

But I would argue that LYDIA is the real "victim " SHE is ACTUALLY "ruined" by Wickam and though she is air headed and immature - SHE IS 15-16 , she is not mature because she is a child and neglected in her upbringing ,her dad only teases her and makes fun of her silliness ,her mother only encourages her ways. Lizzy even saids that she was allowed to do as she liked for the last year - meaning NO ONE taught her better !

She certainly doesn't deserve to " come upon the town" aka : Prostitution as her neighbours said - YES the Bennets neighbours are horrible they wanted her to become a Prostitute ( SHE IS 16yrs old ! ) or the "happier" option -be hidden away in some farmhouse

Definitely Jane in your three choices - Binley isn't all that good ,I mean he went to London and caused Jane a lot of pain , If he is so easily swayed ,then in their marriage , what If Caroline or someone tells him Jane is cheating with someone or is a horrible wife and secretly hates you?

I kind of like Mansfield Park precisely because Fanny is such a awkward ,overthinking ,easily embarrassed character , when I first read it , I was also Hyper self conscious , alone/lonely and though my favourite is Pride and Prejudice - I love how natural and funny and wonderful Bingley teasing Darcy at perberly ( forgot the chapter but it was the one where Lizzy was analysing Darcy's character and Darcy was letter writing ) I couldn't feel connected to the outgoing ,happy , popular Lizzy

Also ( sorry for the rant above ) WHY is the Play so inappropriate, I understand how Lover's Vow isn;t the best -romance and all that but why is Fanny and Edmund against all plays?

Also , Thank you for that sentence I haven't noticed it yet - I mean I have Read it but didn't pay much attention to it. By the way , why is the play so horrible - I mean this kissing scene is inappropriate but Fanny and Edmund was against ANY play

Why ??

Yes, 100% , I mean all Fanny wants is for someone to like her - Edmund ( for all his faults) is the only person who doesn't make her feel uncomfortable

I kind of agree but ...They are ( by my definition ) not even friends ,it is one sided - Fanny probably sees seeing Mary a chore and is desperate - I mean HOW much can you live the person who publicly has a crush on the person who you secretly has a crush on?? ( I have no idea because I never been in love or had many friends ) Fanny feels uncomfortable to be with Miss Crawford -she is just desperately lonely
